"We really enjoyed our stay. We were there for a week in late May ("rainy season") and pretty much had the place to ourselves. Even though is it technically a hotel with multiple units, it felt more like visiting friends. We had two units for our group of six (couple in their 50s with four kids aged 22, 20, 19, 15) and both units were clean, well maintained, and quiet, with powerful air conditioning. Steve and Martha could not have been nicer or more helpful. They went out of their way to make sure we were happy and enjoying our time in Tamarindo. Martha served up delicious breakfasts every morning and arranged excursions for us (night time turtle tour, day trip to Nicaragua, estuary tour, and sunset catamaran cruise). Yes, the hotel is located uphill from the beach on a bumpy dirt road, and yes, there are stairs to climb to get to the rooms, so this place is not for anyone seeking luxury or who has mobility issues. You might find some bugs or even a lizard in your room but if something like that does happen, you can be sure that Steve and Martha will be there to help. We were very comfortable here and never felt unsafe, even when making our way back to the hotel late at night. If you are a go-with-the-flow kind of person (ie - Pura Vida), this is a great choice for you."

"Cozy small hotel right in the middle of the forest. You will be able to see howler monkeys, white-faced monkeys, multiple species of crabs, iguanas, coatis and squirrells. The hotel is in a walking distance to South Samara Beach, and 3 minute drive to Carrillo Beach (highly recomended)."

"What a beautiful and relaxing space. The owners Jaime and Miri were wonderful, so sweet and friendly. Design is impeccable. Rooms thoughtfully laid out and stunning. The bed was so comfy. Had the best massage at the spa. Also loved the restaurant/bar near the pool. Great food and drinks. I ate every taco they have and they were all genuinely delicious. Can't say enough good things. Really enjoyed my stay, just an excellent place to rest and enjoy. "

"Capitan Suizo was by far my favorite hotel that I have ever stayed at! All of the staff was OUTSTANDING, and super kind. The hotel felt comfy, beautiful, natural, peaceful, and clean. It was a great place to hangout for most of the day and rotate from the pool to the beach. "

"We stayed at this hotel for a week. The staff were all wonderful. There was a continental breakfast available to us everyday. Which is a oerfect start to the morning. Our room was clean and super comfortable with an amazing view. The pool is accessible and only 5 feet deep, and use of lounge chairs everywhere. Waking up to exoctic birds, and abimal sounds was an awesome experience. Seeing the Howler Monkeys on our way to down was the coolest ever. Plenty of iguanas and see crabs everywhere. This hotel offers the best dual experience. The romantic vacation away from the spring break party seen. And the vicinty of all the needs for a perfect vacation. The staff will lead you in the right direction for all things Costa Rican. Use the ice machine it is your friend. This was a very peaceful safe place to stay. And most important the pictures you see are real and everything is exactly as it shows. The beach is literally right there. "
