Altus Lodge
10/10 Excellent
"This place definitely exceeded my expectations. Room was very clean, beds were super comfortable, the shower had great water pressure. Right next to the grocery and short walk to restaurants /shops. A couple of caveats: (1) the upstairs is not accessible for wheelchair users (and likely difficult for people with mobility impairments in general); (2) there are no staff on site as far as I could tell. All that said, I would definitely stay here again. "
"I was adventuring solo for a few days and stayed in the 3-bed hostel room at the Avon. The room was small but the bed was comfy, the amenities were nice (i.e. towels and toiletries in the bathroom), and the staff was welcoming and helpful. It is a funky, cozy, old-timey spot in the mountains, with a covered porch with rocking chairs so you can sit outside and look at the mountains winding down after a day of hiking or having your morning coffee. I would definitely stay there again. Thanks to Pat for all the help making this a great mini-vacation!"
