Mystic River Resort

"What a beautiful experience! I HIGHLY recommend. My husband and I were looking for a quiet, peaceful, jungle experience and Mystic River delivered. The grounds are beautiful and well kept, and our room was wonderful and the bed was comfy. Steve, Mike & Olivia went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. Steve & Olivia took care of us at the facility and Mike was our wonderful tour guide the entire stay. The food was delicious and perfectly plated (many thanks to the chef) and the rum punch was very good & hit the spot (many thanks to Steve 😉). Our room was fun. Steve delivered fresh coffee & pastries to our front door every morning. It had a plunge pool and was right along the beautiful Macal River. We got to see toucans!! The only negative is the neighboring resort's generator!!! Mystic River is solar powered so there's no generator noise whatsoever. It's very unfortunate the other resort isn't cognitive of the noise their generator is causing. Apparently it just recently happened."

"The staff at Villa Massis made us feel like family from the second we walked in! The food and drinks were wonderful. The room was perfect. The property is absolutely beautiful! Joelle (spelling?) was extremely warm and helpful. He booked us a private tour to Xunantunich Mayan Ruins. Mark was our guide and the tour was incredible! Their bartender, Gio, knew exactly how to cool us off after a hot day. Lucy always had the most beautiful smile on her face. The owner (can't remember his name) was very friendly and we could tell how much love he put into this property. Everyone was so happy to see us enjoying ourselves there. The best breakfast of our entire trip to Belize was at this resort! We will 100% be back to visit and will be bringing friends next time!"

"The staff was very friendly and helpful. All staff speaks English. The restaurant had great food and wonderful service. Accepts USD or credit card. The room was clean and good A/C. This was a great home base for excursions to Mountain Pine Ridge and Caracol. It was less than a 5 minute walk from the resort to the Cahal Pech Mayan ruins. 10/10 would stay here again. It was also nice that the resort is a bit outside of the town which is quite busy with hustle and bustle of daily life."

"Very nice room and facilities. Nice patio with hammock. Staff friendly and helpful. Coffee shop does not open until 8 or later Several restaurants nearby, important to note, there are several restaurants on the street parallel to Burnes avenue - cut throught across from the Burnz resturant."

"Like many eco lodges in the area, rooms are basically screened-in porchs with adjustable shutters - perfect for the setting, but very exposed. So, I get up at 2:30am for a routine bathroom visit, and let me add the (surprisingly relevant) detail that it was the quick and quiet #1 variety. Just as I was back in bed turning off the light, someone in the dark just outside my window asked 'Are you alright?'. Startled, at first I assumed this was a conversation between 2 people coincidentally on the walk outside my room, and I did not respond. However, the person who identified as a security guard seemed to really want to start a conversation with me, and kept asking until I responded. If I was not fully awake before, I sure was now and hours after,"
