If you are looking for a memorable experience this is the right place for you. With its 42 mt high, the Salvucci Tower is one of the famous towers of San Gimignano and today the only one turned into a vertically-spread apartment divided into 11 floors, for a total of 143 steps. A unique and timeless place, ideal to experience something never tried before. The tower can hosts couples or small groups up to 3 people. Its panoramic rooftop boasts an incredibly breathtaking view all over the town.
Once belonging to the Salvucci family, wealthy merchants of spices and fabrics in medieval times, the tower required a historical-conservative restoration that lasted over four years and ended in the early 1990s. Today, each floor of the tower corresponds to a different and equipped room, making the tower a real vertical house. The stairs are steep and not too comfortable, but they undoubtedly contribute to creating a magical atmosphere that only who stay here can experience. From the panoramic rooftop, at a height of 42 mt, you can admire sunrises, sunsets and starry skies, surrounded by the other towers that soar towards the sky and an incredibly unique view above San Gimignano.
All guests can enjoy a delicious welcome basket. Linen and towels are supplied, there is free Wi-Fi (on the 1st and 2nd floor of the tower) and an iron and ironing board have been recently added.
The accommodation has a new air conditioner (A/C Unit) located near the foldaway bed on the 6th floor, and some fans on the other floors. Instead, heating is centralized.

Useful information:
- There are no passage way doors between the floors of the tower
- On request only we can evaluate equiries of stay for 4 people
- Due to the central location of the tower, in the evening or in the morning you may hear some noise coming from the square below for different reasons: the street sweepers which pass by to clean, the technicians in charge of assembling the scaffolding for events and/or concerts, the Thursday morning weekly market.. If you are a light sleeper, we therefore suggest you not to stay here
- We also recommend not to stay here to all those suffering from claustrophobia or vertigo and if you have problems walking up/down the stairs
- Please note that if you're looking for modern comforts or luxury, this is not the place for you
- The tower is not suitable for stays with children under 12
- There is neither a washing machine nor a dryer, but you can easily find a laundromat within 5 minutes walking in Via Cannicci
Where to park:
The tower is located in the historic centre in a ZTL area. You can easily park just outside the walls. The most recommended options for parking are: Parking P3 Bagnaia, under video surveillance and paid at a cost of €15.00/day, from here the tower can be reached in 8-10 minutes on foot slightly uphill; or you can park for free all along Via Cappelletti, a residential area with free parking spaces marked with white lines; you just have to check the signs relating to street sweeping day. From here the tower can be reached in 10-12 minutes on foot uphill for the first stretch and then slightly uphill once you arrive at Porta San Matteo. For those with a lot of luggage, we recommend to bring with you only the essentials.
