"We have had a fabulous stay for our Sons Wedding at Alrewas Hayes.The accomodation was magnificant for us to be able to host the Groom and the Groomsmen and partners - we could not have asked for more. It was comfort & luxury personified.The owners kindly accomodated our requests and the house was brilliant for activities in a lovely setting.The surrounding area is very pretty, with canal walks and a nearby local pub.We can not recommend Sandy Hill Farm highly enough.Candice & Martin"

"Lovely room, parking & location excellent. Reception staff great. Breakfast not so good and service poor."

"The property was clean, including the bedding and towels. Kitchen and bathroom were equipped with all we needed. Short walk into the city where for the many restaurants. Parking was a challenge. The area where it was indicated we should park was very small, barely wider than the pavement, so the car would have needed to be parked alongside the garage rather than reversed into the space in front of the garage otherwise the car would protrude into the road. This we could not do as there was already a car next to the garage, thereby preventing us from parking there so we had to find alternative parking, which we did nearby. Also, it would appear that the policy on this property is such that a booking over and above one person incurs a cost of 45 for additional guests. There were 2 of us and we were charged that amount. We did take this up with the host and VRBO but were unable to obtain a refund. We could not find this indicated in the small print, either at the time of booking or retrospectively but we did see on the original invoice that it was marked as an additional cost and unfortunately we did miss this at the time of the booking confirmation. We were also contacted by the host regarding our booking as it appeared another party had booked the same days as us, apparently due to a system error, but as we had booked a month earlier and the other party had only booked on the day we received the call the host sorted the problem and cancelled the other parties booking"

"Stayed here during the summer, breakfast was great, we were given a menu and a choice of continental selection. Breakfast cooked fresh so we booked again. Sadly this time we were greeted with a breakfast buffet which wasnt the same. Therefore we would not be in a rush back, hopefully the cook will ge brought back "

"This property is simply lovely. Clean, warm and very comfortable. So much care has been taken over everything. With regard to it's pet friendliness there is a slight hitch. There is nowhere safe to let the dogs pop out on their own,they need to be on a lead.Not the best last thing at night or early morning and it did cause a problem for me.That said, the canal walk is beautiful and I would recommend it. We would certainly stay again but minus the dogs. "

"On arrival we were able to enter the property easily and found a large spacious house according to the listing.However, on looking for cups to make tea we saw that cups, glasses and crockery were dirty and so we ran the dishwasher soon after arriving. We also found dirty roasting pans in two of the ovens. One of the frying pans was extremely rusty and should have been disposed of long ago. The property was clean overall except for the utility room which had very grimy work surfaces. There was also a lack of kitchen utensils.In the master bathroom the bath surround was falling away from the bath.I messaged the host with three questions:There was a washer but I couldn’t find a dryer. The host stated that the machine was both but it definitely was not a dryer.Where is the microwave? The host stated that the left hand oven was the microwave. It is in fact a conventional oven, there is no microwave.I asked if there was a coffee machine/french press/pod machine. The host responded that there was a coffee machine next to the electric kettle - there was no coffee machine.When we returned late on our last day we found a drying rack and a coffee machine - little bit late for us but good for next occupants.I don’t think that the host ever visited the house and so doesn’t know what is there, very sad."
