"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Manor and will definitely visit again. We would highly recommend it to any couple. The place was very clean and well-kept, and the beds were so comfortable. The staff were excellent, and breakfast was great. To top off our stay, we even saw a whale breach right in front of us as we were driving out of the driveway. What a wonderful way to end our stay!"

"The house is lovely, and the decor is beautiful and very coastal. Views are wonderful so close to the water. Most of the house was throughly cleaned but the floors were dirty when we got there (dirtied up our socks, visible particles). Kitchen has everything you need including some condiments in the fridge. It was great having laundry on sight to wash some towels and clothing mid-stay. Not much to do in the area, a lot of closed down establishments but we were there to see family, so it was fine. As other reviewers mentioned, it is quite loud on the street. Cars, motorcycles, trucks and ATV’s speed past at all hours of the day/night. You do kind get used to it, it didn’t disturb our sleeping 4 year old and ear plugs helped me. We did notice some noises in the wall in the family room, scurrying and squeaking… possible rats… but never any indication of being IN the house. If we were to stay in Carbonear again, I would still consider renting this home again."

"We loved staying at the Saltbox home, and truly wanted to stay forever. As soon as my kids walked in they said they loved the place, and as teenagers they're not easy to please. My husband and I spent hours relaxing on the deck overlooking the bay, spotting birds and whales. The views and sunsets were incredible. Everyone enjoyed the hot tub. The TV was good for a family movie night. The rooms were all very clean and comfortable. The kitchen had just about everything we needed, including baking pans so my daughter could make her favourite banana bread and cookies. The place was also an easy drive into St. John's for some time in the city, and down to Witless Bay for a puffin boat tour. The host was responsive to messages, and runs an organized and thoughtful holiday home."
