"Infested with mice in the restaurant. Staff is aware. Staff ignore do not disturb sign and just come in your room anyways so dont keep any personal items out."

"The hotel was severely over priced. The property was in disrepair. The rooms were somewhat tidy but close inspection there was hair in the shower the floor of the bathroom. It took 5 mins for any hot water. The staff were not accommodating or particularly friendly. The tv did not work the internet was terrible. Zero parking! Hallways dark. There was a decent working fridge, microwave and air conditioner. The doors slammed very loud. Bed was terrible! I felt like I was lying on a lumpy hill. Would not recommend especially at the over £120 per night price!"

"We checked in very late, close to midnight due to our flight, and received a less than warm reception. But after that, everything was great. Breakfast was good and had enough variety. Staff were friendly and helpful when we needed more towels and shampoo. And everything was clean and comfortable. One thing, though. This hotel is uphill from everything downtown so, for me, it wasn’t as walkable as I expected. This area of Halifax is all hill. If you have mobility issues, you’ll want to stay somewhere at the bottom of the hill."

"While Atlantica is a fine hotel with friendly and helpful staff, it is not a "tourist" hotel in terms of location. We initially assumed we could walk downtown and to the boardwalk. A helpful front desk employee disabused us of that. Getting around Halifax from the Atlantica pretty much requires a car. Once we got accustomed to getting around by car, the hotel served its purpose as a clean, well-serviced accommodation and we had no complaints whatsoever. If someone wants to be located in the waterfront action, on the other hand, this may not be their preferred hotel. Other hotel clients we met included conference attendees, families wanting to be close to people in the nearby hospital, and parents visiting university students."
