"The Mermaid Inn is a special place. So much history around every corner. It's a really gorgeous setting, with period detail throughout. Staff were friendly and helpful, and rapidly corrected an error made during check-out. Breakfast was delicious and you can tell they use high quality ingredients in everything. I was slightly disappointed in the room: it was pretty stifling despite the weather being merely warm; the four poster bed was much smaller than a modern double and had a cobweb hanging from one corner; and the weird red polyester throws/curtains and cushions with plastic crystals jarred with the intricate carvings and beans around us. But all in all a good experience and we enjoyed our stay. "

"Lovely property .. great location in heart of Rye. We stayed in a cosy room .. it was fab, beautiful decor and great facilities. Great breakfast nice bar. Staff were great but in particular a great duo on reception ( didn’t get names) but a blonde lady so accommodating allowing us to leave bags before checking in, so we could explore Rye and an Australian male that impressed us in returning a missed phone call before arriving and ensuring we had a pleasant stay. Thank you both credit to the George. "

"The staff and owner made our stay memorable, their attention to making sure their customers needs were met, the rooms were very clean, the restaurant menu was very good and was freshly cooked. This is an ideal place for artists and bird watchers the view from the room is unbelievable, also the bird life sight and sound is brilliant. Can't recommend the Lodge enough. There are places"
