"I really enjoyed my stay at the Royalton and would definitely return. The staff were friendly, and the food was very good overall. The only disappointment was the Hunters Steakhouse. There were long wait times, confusion with orders, the food was served cold, and there was no bread provided at the tables. We also experienced one night without cold water, which meant we couldn’t take showers, and the toilet would not flush. Fortunately, this was only a temporary issue. The guests were also very friendly and inviting, which made the trip joyful. Despite these inconveniences, I had a wonderful stay. The friendly service, good food, and overall experience made it a trip worth repeating. I look forward to returning."

"Well appointed ground floor apartment. Two spacious, air conditioned, bedrooms with very comfortable beds. The apartment has everything you need to cater for yourself but a few minute walk takes you to the resort bar/restaurant and a short trip takes you to Holetown with all of its choices of bars and restaurants. Sugar Hill grounds are meticulously maintained and the pools kept very clean too. Gym access was very useful to have too.Cheryl is a very friendly, proactive and responsive host. Everything was clear prior to arrival and any questions whilst we were there were answered very quickly. Woikd be more than happy to stay again."

Luxury penthouse apartment on exclusive Sugar Hill resort with beach club access

"Our stay at Sunbird (within the Sugar Hill Resort) was so lovely! We would definitely return! It is such a well decorated and well appointed apartment with really nice outdoor living spaces including the dining patio and rooftop patio which has beautiful views to the sea; and from which you can relax, sun bathe, enjoy the sunsets and the starry night sky. The apartment also has a view to the garden pool, and is just steps away from the main clubhouse where there is the central pool, fitness room and The Deck restaurant. It is also just steps to the tennis courts which are really nice! The apartment at Sugar Hill provides access to the Fairmont Royal Pavilion beach club which was great. The area on the beach for the beach chairs is a bit small though they do expand it on other side of the lifeguard house when it gets full, and there is a good bar/restaurant area right there with casual lounge sofas and eating tables. Bed was very comfortable, with only downside it being a Queen(we prefer King). Kitchen and bath have been updated and only comment is the kitchen appliances are a bit older, but once we figured out how to work them, were just fine. This apartment is a little piece of paradise and thank you to the hosts for allowing us to experience it. We had a wonderful stay!"

"Beautiful apartment, tastefully decorated & contained everything you could possibly need. We did not cook, but with the equipment in the kitchen anyone could have hosted a dinner party! Could definitely recommend this apartment in the secure & wonderful Sugar Hill Estate, but we do feel a car is essential for shopping, beach & exploring Barbados."
Tiny Home Retreat Near Beach- Marsh Mellow Cottage

"This is a bungalow next to a mansion in a residential neighborhood near Holetown in Barbados. The surroundings are beautiful and the house is unusual in that there are no glass windows, just openings that have wooden shutters. This gives you a feeling of living outdoors, but with an air conditioner. Initially we were worried about opening the windows and bugs coming in, but there was no issue with that in time of year that we visited (early March). So for most of the time, the windows were open and a lovely breeze went through the house. The house is on top of a steep hill and you really need a car to get anywhere. In the mornings, monkeys would visit the front yard, picking coconuts, which was spectacular. One minor thing is that the kitchen appliances are old. The only oven is a toaster oven, which sometimes did not work. Overall, we had a wonderful and unique experience of living closer to nature."
