The Sandpiper is a luxury boutique hotel in a great location on the west coast of Barbados. You get what you pay for, it is expensive but worth it. The staff are courteous and well trained, and nothing is too much trouble. It is clear why this is one of the small luxury hotels of the world.
We stayed (with friends) for in early April. The weather was great and we really enjoyed the snorkeling. The sun was more intense than we expected so take precautions.
As for the Sandpiper - we've never stayed at a place with a nicer and more helpful staff. Everyone was great and they got to know us. The grounds were immaculate. you could ell they took great pride in their resort.
Also great was the food. After a week in one place I usually get tired of the food but here the quality was great and the selection varied. We didn't feel the need to go offsite (but we did - had to explore the island). We could almost always get our favorite table overlooking the water. Drinks were tasty.
The beach is small and informal but we always managed to find chairs to relax in. The pools were a nice alternative to the beach - especially after swimming in the ocean. The ocean was clean and clear.
We stayed at The Sandpiper from Tuesday to Monday and had a truly phenomenal time. The hotel grounds are absolutely beautiful and peaceful — the perfect place to relax. What really stood out was the service: everyone on the staff was incredibly kind and attentive. Any time we needed something, they were quick to help, and even if it wasn’t readily available, they found a way to assist. Overall, a wonderful stay and an excellent experience. We hope to return!

Pleasant Stay
We had a very pleasant stay at The Sandpiper.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Our room was in need of a little refresh and update.
We had an excellent 3 night stay at this lovely small chic boutique hotel. The cuisine and staff service were top class. The setting and location is lovely. We would very much like to return in future.
This was our 1st time at The SandPiper and everything about our experience was exceptional from the time we arrived until we left. No delay in being taken to our room, our luggage already waiting allowing us to get settled in.
The entire place was clean and tidy. The staff takes a lot of pride in the hotel. We had a garden view room and we loved having a cup of coffee on the deck each morning. The breakfast was amazing as well as our beautifully presented meals. Given the resort is on the west side of the island, the view of the sunsets each night was amazing. We ate dinner in the restaurant and had bar food a couple of times during our stay, both were great. We had a wonderful stay at The SandPiper and we'd definitely recommend. A perfect stay.
There is nothing that I did not like! Everything was superb-the grounds, the rooms, the service, the beach. The staff of this hotel deserves a post on its own as it was the friendliest, most caring team ever. Can’t wait to return to The Sandpiper!!
Hotel and staff were all great and very accommodating with any requests.
Harold's bar and beach staff were very friendly, would recommend this hotel without hesitation.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
Facility is quite dated, patronized by older British couples. For 2 day stay, check-in was late afternoon but prematurely forced out of room on departure day prior to 11 am.
Great hotel - suite was excellent - elegant, with great views and with a beautiful terrace and outside area. Perfect location for getting onto the beach, into Holetown and a base to explore the island. Staff were superb!
Excellent hotel in Holetown directly on the beach and a short walk to all the shops and restaurants. Lovely staff, good food and well furnished large rooms in a traditional Barbados style. I stayed there for a work trip but it is a great base for a holiday. I will return
Amazing hotel, as a returning guest, all the staff were as helpful as ever delivering a personal yet professional service. It’s great to have them all back after 6 months of closure! They also arranged my fast track at the airport, transportation and my Covid test which came back in 20 hours meaning quarantine was a short process!
