The Royal Hotel

"An initial, disappointing start to our stay was quickly remedied, quietly, politely and professionally. From then on everything was so much better. The Hotel is probably a little understaffed (a reflection of the economic strains of current hospitality?) so often a Team member had to be searched out but once found were polite, attentive and friendly. Our room, a late booking so limited choice, was compact but nevertheless comfortable with an excellent rain shower in the bathroom and a good view of the river. We found a delightful lounge on the first floor from which we could watch the world go by as the river ebbed and flowed whilst enjoying the occasional glass of beer, or two!! Dinner on each night was a lovely occasion in a stylish dining room, well cooked food, nicely presented and served by delightful staff."

"We've just returned from a 9 day stay in this property in Westward Ho! The property is exactly as described, and very accurate to the images - in fact we found the views even better in real life than the photos here. The flat was very well equipped and is in an excellent location with the beach, pubs, bars and shops all a few minutes away. Communication with the owner was straightforward and effective, and access instructions very clear.Overall very highly recommended."

"Apartmant was great in a very quiet area. Shops,beach,shops,bars and eating places were a 15 mins walk down a steep hill.Have to say not ideal for persons with mobility issues as steep hill walking back up from shop and beach area. It was fine for us."

"Ideal location for relaxing, watching the beach activities and eating locally. The apartment has everything one would require and is very comfortable.Reserved parking space and lift makes it suitable for disabled people.Cleaners do a wonderful job and the tea, coffee, milk & biscuits are a bonus.We'll be back!!!"

"Wow! What a fantastic location, right next to the sea, fell asleep to the sound of the waves crashing against the rocks and as the lounge and main bedroom were south west facing, providing beautiful sunset views. Well equipped, although some items, like games and dvds missing owing to removal for COVID safety. Comfortable bed and lounge furniture, good sized telly, pretty much everything you could need practicality wise, but lacking the luxury expected for a premium price. No coffee maker, aged microwave etc The apartment is probably about 2 years away from needing a refurbishment, nothing major, but touch up in certain areas wouldn't go amiss.Overall though, an amazing place to stay in westward ho! Would definitely recommend to friends, notwithstanding the caveats above."
