"Everything about this hotel was good. Easy checking in and out. Lovely clean room with comfortable bed. Nice area, very good breakfast hot and cold food with great choice, helpful and friendly staff especially manager in restaurant. Lovely bright area with nice bar. Bonus is discounted car parking nearby. Will definitely return."

"Firstly we enjoyed our stay. The room was brilliant in terms of having two double beds and a sofa bed all made up with loads of space for us all. It’s not often you find that much space and bed in one room. The price was good too. The rooms are dated and tired but there were no major issues for us. Not spotless but not dirty. We didn’t have breakfast so cannot comment. We did enjoy a family swim in the pool. Again the area is dated and not prefect but the pool was great and we had fun. They had ran out of locks for the male lockers so we did have to have our clothes in carrier bags in pegs poolside. Overall it’s not a ‘destination’ hotel any more. I could see that it absolutely once was. But…they do offer a good rate with good facilities and we did enjoy our stay. As a family of 5 we would stay again due to the pool and the room."

"The room would benefit from more 3 pin sockets - there are none near the bed! Loads of street parking outside, way cheaper than the discounted nearby QPark. Hotel is well located, and very comfortable."

"Hotel was lovely. In a good location for town, very clean. Staff were all incredibly helpful, checked me in an hour early. The bar was really nice, decent atmosphere good music. The restaurant is only used for breakfast but a great selection."

"Good budget hotel with good size rooms. The bathroom is also roomy with a large shower . This is essentially a business hotel but contains a sofa bed as well as the double , it has a desk and a comfortable office chair the room had easy access tp two lifts . The staff are helpful and friendly the dining and seating areas are near reception which is clean and has plenty of light . The breakfast was buffet and very good ,they also have a dining menu which we did not use . The hotel has good WiFi and free parking . The location was also good 5-6 miles from Barnsley ,with a supermarket opposite and easy access to low cost restaurants and fast food outlets . The hotel is also very close to a country park . A few niggly problems ,our last stay at a different Holiday Inn the sink had no plug ,this one had one but it was broken . There was a problem with the electrical socket but we were moved to a different room . Also found the air condition a little noisy at night . Yes we liked this hotel"
