"Friendly staff and good food. "

"Parking was good but we struggled to get in with the codes. Thankfully a member of staff let us in. We only stayed one night and it was in the O Hagan Suite (one of the best rooms) - good value but it was a Sunday night. Good things - comfy clean bed. Shower was great. Loved the projector. Not so good - no water in room , just a fridge full of fizzy sugary drinks which neither of us could drink. We asked for some water and was told they were awaiting delivery. Breakfast is no longer served in the Food Hall but is in a local coffee shop shortly walk away. Just 3 things on the menu - large "full English", smaller "full English" or yoghurt or oats with berries. No cereal or pastries and just one drink. They were really busy too (Monday morning around 8am ) which meant breakfast didn't arrive till after coffee. Staff that we encountered at the hotel were lovely and helpful within their means. Not a bad stay but some minor tweaks and it could be great!"

"Very impressed with the hotel. Staff were great as was the breakfast. Had a 2nd floor double room in the courtyard, which was spacious and very quiet which I liked. It was a little cool in the room but had a sufficient wall heater to help with that. Very nice modern bathroom and shower. Very grand building and the spa & pool which looked amazing and very inviting but didn’t have time to use. Family friendly and busy whilst I was there. Would recommend a stay here to my friends "

"Extensive mould in the bedroom. Very dated decor in room and the taps were broken. Lots of cobwebs. Wedding on and the music played till 00.30 very loud, so couldn't sleep at all. A memorable stay for the wrong reasons"

"Always have a nice quiet stay here. Check-in is online and easy, and entrance and room codes are included in your welcome email. You have the proprietor's mobile number should you need to speak to someone. I would say that cleaning needs to be more meticulous, and maintenance and upkeep of the facilities (roll holders, bathroom shelves etc) has to be more regular..."

"For the cost the room was very basic. Staff member just showed me to the room with no info about how to get back in if the pub was closed or how to leave the next day when no-one would be around. No details given on Internet password or even asking if I had any questions, my very presence seemed to be an inconvenience. Shared areas full of rubbish, want to have a shower? Best bring your own shower gel as nothing is provided. Visit was Feb but no heating in the toilet/shower room I won't be coming back."
