I stayed two nights at the Home2 Suites by Hilton Richmond Short Pump while in town for a wedding. The location was great (right next to Short Pump Town Center and easy access to W Broad Street) but definitely car-dependent. The only time I had any trouble parking was following a late return to the hotel on Saturday night, but I was able to find one last available spot and did not have to inquire about alternative options.
Check-in was quick and the lobby area was very clean and fresh, despite it being a rainy day. My room on the fourth floor was also extremely clean and spacious, and showed almost no signs of wear and tear aside from some small scratches on the closet wall from the hangers. The kitchenette was well-stocked with dishes and relevant cleaning supplies such as dish soap and a sponge, and signage listed that hotplates and cookware were available at the front desk, if needed. I did notice that the elevators were not secured by key card access, which I didn't love from a security standpoint.
Breakfast was free with a generous range of open hours each morning. The style was much more "classic Southern" than I'm used to from hotel breakfasts, with biscuits and gravy along with the more standard pancakes and cereal. Not my taste, but it was a hit with other guests.
Overall, I would be happy to stay at this hotel again in the future, though I might bring my own breakfast items.
