This end terrace Victorian cottage has been beautifully restored into a fabulous des res. What can we say… think Victorian fireplaces and wide sash windows paired with English oak floors, wood burning stoves, recessed spotlights and 21st century amenities and you’ve got the picture.
The galley style kitchen is stylish and well fitted out with a cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine and dishwasher . The adjoining dining area has a farmhouse style table and six chairs, two seater sofa and wood burning stove… perfect for curling up and having a little ‘me’ time. The separate sitting room has comfortably furnished with a couple of sofas TV and a second wood burning stove. The large walk in shower is also on the ground floor. Steep stairs from front hall (with handrail on both sides) lead to the two spacious bedrooms, one double and a twin with views over Bartholomew Green and St Edmunds Church. The family bathroom is also on the first floor with a bath and power shower over. Outside the cottage has a pretty courtyard garden with enamel table and chairs.
The Cornerstone lies off the High Street in Southwold so guests can stroll to the many delightful shops, delis, cafes and restaurants in the town - perfect for a coffee and cake while indulging in a little retail therapy.
The whole coastline beckons… it’s just a short walk to the sea with the picturesque pastel beach huts. Stroll along the upper promenade, beautiful at any time of year. A visit to Southwold wouldn’t be complete without heading off to the pier, dating back to the 1900’s, it was originally built as a landing point for the steamships which use to stop off at the town. Don’t forget to visit the lighthouse - this distinctive landmark at the centre of the town has been guiding vessels into the historical harbour since the late 1800’s.
The Cornerstone is a great base to get out and about, and with the beach close by, it’s perfect for families.
