"The hotel is situated next to a nature reserve , with a spa, and wellness centre. A very good location. However I found the room to have a very strong smell of damp, there was a lot of dust on top of the curtains, and lamp shades. When closing the curtains the dust fell down and the curtains were stuck along the curtain pole, I’m not sure if the room is used often enough to be thoroughly cleaned each time as it felt very damp as though it was cleaned a while ago and left. "Maddingley Hall is a lovely place to stay given its history but especially its magnificent grounds. The rooms are very comfortable and have all the amenities. There is a very nice bar with a good atmosphere. Food is OK but with a limited selection. The breakfast selection is good but don't get there too late otherwise the selection is limited. Staff were adequate but need some training to look after their guests better."

"The property is very conveniently located to allow great access to all the Cambridge sights. The room was lovely and well-appointed with teas, coffee and even hot chocolate. The property is beautiful and allows for great walks in their green space. The staff were definitely helpful though sometimes with a slightly detached attitude. That is the only criticism I would have. "
