"We stayed at The Fleece for a couple of nights. Our welcome as a pleasant professional one, despite the bar and restaurant being busy. Our room and the linen was very clean, and although quite warm, there was a fan provided that did the trick. We ate in the restaurant one evening and the food was good, and the breakfast, which was included, was delicious. Lovely beer garden/ courtyard to enjoy a relaxing beer. "Attractively restored pub with very comfortable rooms and good food. The staff couldn't be more helpful - we particularly appreciated the fan left on to cool the room ready for our arrival. Lovely walk from the front door to the old docks on the bay a short distance away."

"Great location for Lake District and Lancashire an on to North Yorkshire/Yorkshire Dales without the premium price. Breakfast was plentiful and staff accommodating of a large party. We were able to change our room due to an error on our part, without problem or charge. Parking was always available and accessible."

"The check in experience was a nightmare, we had pre booked parking and it was not available, it took about 45 minutes to check in and we eventually had to park in the municipal car park. Apart from this initial nightmare the rest of the stay was fine. A special thanks to Michael for all his efforts to resolve the parking issue. "

"really well priced, great location in the sea front. bedding was super clean and very comfortable. the walls were quite dirty though and the light in the bathroom was permanently flickering. all in all, i really enjoyed my stay. the old school lift is a thing of beauty - don’t ever change it. i think a lick of paint in the room would make the world of difference"

"What a delightful cosy rooms with showerrooms. Comfortable beds, with well insulation blinds/ curtain for the strong summer sun. Room was copl at night, and good bathroom facilities. We were going to be late, and staff rang to check on our progress. Staff waited until we arrived and showed us our rooms. Breakfast was included but the choice and want we were entitled too was a not clear. Cooked breakfast meals very delicious and tasty."

"My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly and helpful - we ate in the bar on the first night - tasty food and HUGE potion size. The room was large (twin beds) and both the room and bathroom were clean and well maintained - this is an old building which was part of its charm. The breakfast was continental - had everything we needed. We booked a second night which wasn't planned."
