"The improvements which could be made to improve the property would be to have a shower, there is only a shower attachment on the bath and with the sloping ceiling it resulted in having to kneel down in the bath to shower, a pain for hubby. There were also a few cracks in the bathroom floor which could do with being fixed as water marks on ceiling below. No washing machine either which with a family would make it very difficult. Rugs in living room really need replacing, I’ve given it 4 stars due...

"Poor communication with Hotels.com. Messages unanswered. Had to ring to get key code as was anxious no contact had been made. Disconnected after trying to get through several times. Location was good. Nice fresh clean bedding. Needs maintenance & TLC. Neglected garden which was a shame as we sat outside a few times so could have been nicer. "Booked for a weekend family visits, we didn't use any of the spa or entertainment or restaurant options so cannot comment on those. Our room was clean and tidy, staff welcomed us on arrival and wished us well on checkout. The car park is super busy but that is an issue anywhere so close to the seafront. The only issue we had was some very noisy upstairs neighbours who woke us several times - even during the hotels requested quiet times. Obviously, visitor behaviour is somewhat outside of the hotels control and being such an old and historic building some creaks and squeaks are to be expected, just a shame it somewhat ruined a nice stay."

"Lovely b&b the fantastic Carol & Keith were fabulous hosts. We made good time so arrived early and it wasn’t a problem. They let us check in and were able to park on the drive . Keith gave us the best way to walk to all amenities and what time breakfast was. The room was bright and airy with fresh clean towels and a fabulous ceiling fan as it was so hot. Loads of wardrobe space with hangers hairdryer dressing table and Tv. Really lovely room. En suite was a good size. The Breakfast was outstanding ! We couldn’t eat anything else all day. It was 10 out of 10. Will defo stay again."

"Host was really nice. Get a parking permit for a car park about 12 mins walk away. Not so great as a single person as I had to pay to park first and then drag my case down, but no fault of guesthouse there! Room was nice enough. Good location, very close to seafront and short walk to the town centre. Fan in room."

"I had a ground floor room in the annexe, very comfy and plenty of space. The best thing about the hotel is the friendliness and customer service from the staff team. Super helpful to us as a group of female cyclists. Our bikes were safely stored overnight and staff were brilliant."

"This was perfect for our mixed age family. A short walk to the stony beach and near SeaLife Centre and Lodmore Country park. The garden was beautiful and all 11 of us could sit around the large table or relax in the other seating. We were very lucky to have the most amazing weather and apart from sleeping and cooking spent all our time in the garden. If it had been wet, the communal areas might have been a little cramped but we would not hesitate to return"
