This property is in the middle of a wooded area. While we strive to be a pest free home, living in the PNW forest has spiders, and other friendly creatures. Sometimes, these visitors find their way inside. This is a byproduct of where we the house is settled. If you are squeamish about these things, this may not be the retreat for you!
The home may include a decibel monitoring sensor to ensure that neighborhood noise levels are respected. NoiseAware is a smart home device that measures decibel levels throughout the property. It allows us to respond to noise nuisances without disrupting your stay. Tampering is prohibited.

The kitchen is clean and has everything you need for your stay. The host supplies dish soap & laundry detergent. It was so convenient to have a washer & dryer. The bed is comfortable. The cottage is in a beautiful & peaceful setting, & it is conveniently located near shopping & restaurants. We very much appreciated how responsive & caring the host is, always responding quickly to messages, & wanting to make sure your stay is as pleasant as possible. There is a train track nearby, but the trains don’t go by very often, & the sound didn’t bother us.

Cozy
A cozy cottage in an unique setting. Appreciated the connections from the owner and his kindness and support. We were only there for 3 nights so it was adequate and generally met expectations. It's a charming and a sweet place to unwind and relax.
Loved the space. Property managers did a great job of providing a comfortable space while reserving the character of this turn of century old cabin. Very cute and love the setting close to the river nestled amongst tall trees and in a great neighbor hood. Train tracks were close by but we enjoyed the nostalgia of it all.
Neat and Tidy, all things to make your visit comfortable. Would be interesting to know the history of this little place. Hosts stayed in contact. Deer and squirrels stopped by for a visit. Very quiet except when the Train passes (after a day you don’t notice it). Only disappointment was the shower, it’s “NOT A SHOWER/TUB COMBO.” The Cottage slops a bit to the South, but understandable due to age. All in all it was a great place to stay.
The cabin is old but very adequate for our needs. You do hear the trains but you do get used to them. The surrounding area is peaceful and private. Our host, Jamison, was wonderful! He answered all my questions promptly and was very gracious.
We enjoyed the cute cottage but were disappointed in the wi-fi that was in and out (more in than out, thankfully). The weather was unseasonably warm day or two, but the rest of our weeklong stay was pleasant. The bed was comfortable and it was nice to have a kitchen.
The hosts were extremely responsive and appreciated feedback I gave directly. Given the colder weather and windows closed the trains were a very minor issue. I also appreciated the supplies they provided (including fresh ground coffee!). The space heaters were adequate (there’s a baseboard heater in the bedroom). All in all better than a hotel!
The location was super ni e, close to public transportation to attend the No Kings march in PDX. We went to Vancouver’s Fatmers Market on Sunday, and just relaxed at the cottage. We had a great time! The only thing lacking was a BBQ!
Thus small cottage was the perfect size for the two of us, with serviceable amenities including coffee, soaps and lotion, clean towels and linens, and wi-fi. The age of the property was apparent in the wavy floors and drafty windows, but provided heaters kept us toasty, and the cozy charm was enhanced by the periodic rumble of the passing trains nearby. Overall, a convenient and cozy stay!
Cute little rustic place tucked into a wooded spot. The train rumbles by often but we didn’t find it off putting. It would be very hard to find without the directions from the host. GPS thinks there is a railroad crossing that doesn’t exist. Easy highway access for going into Portland, out to the coast or going up the river gorge.
this was a truly beautiful rustic cabin nestled right into your own secluded area the forest! you can’t beat the location as it was still really close to a lot of the main attractions i was going to see, while simultaneously also feeling like you were in your own little world while staying here. some of the reviews do say that the floors are a bit slanted and it is right near train tracks, but in my opinion it was not bothersome at all. all of the good & beautiful qualities of this property far outweigh those two minor “issues”. i couldn’t have asked for a more enjoyable 25th birthday vacation!!

Disliked: Location
Historical cabin.
The cabin is falling. Crooked floors made us feel dizzy and unbalanced. House should have foundation raised. The legs of the bed about tore our toes off twice. The train, planes and autos were too much noise. A bit scary. I felt this rental was over priced ! I loved the paintings and would like to purchase one for my home. I also wonder the history on the cabin. I wonder what changes have been done.
This is a great little cottage! You are surrounded by nice houses but you never know it! It is on a wooded lot with a yard between the river and the tracks. I don't think there is water access and you can't see it. I'm not sure how this old house has managed to survive in the area, but it would sure be neat to know it's history. I live in a very rural area so I was a little worried about the noise of the passing trains but I got used to them really fast. The kitchen is well stocked and the house is comfy. My only frustration was the shower; It is a very small corner shower with a curtain.
It was a struggle to wash hair and shave legs without a water mess on the floor or wacking your elbows on the water faucet handles. There weren't any instructions on check out expectations so I treated it like most other VRBO houses and had everything washed/cleaned before I left. The hosts were wonderful and if I would have needed anything, I'm sure they would have answered the message right away.
