"We booked an executive twin room and were told on arrival that we had been upgraded from that room (which would have been on the 10th, 11th or 12th floor) to Room 1706 near the top of the hotel, with a fantastic view out over Porto to the Douro River and even a little piece of the Atlantic Ocean. The room was extremely quiet and very comfortable (although the pillows could use an upgrade). The internet connection was out our first night, so neither TV nor wifi worked, but we told the desk staff about it when we went out our first morning and it was fixed by the time we got back. Breakfast was very nice, served in a very large room, with lots of choices (including port and sparkling wine!) and specialty coffees available by order. The hotel is not centrally located, but metro stops are within walking distance and the metro is very easy to use, and taxis (inexpensive by US standards) easily got us to train stations for day trips and to the airport for departure."

"We LOVED staying here. The staff was so friendly, the rooms were clean and well kept, and there was a lot to do on the property. My only advice is to set an alarm if you have somewhere to be in the morning because the rooms are so dark. Would definitely recommend to everyone!"

"One of the most beautiful hotels we’ve stayed at. Location, location, location was fantastic!! View over the bridge was breathtaking.. short 5-10 min walk max and your in Porto. Had the best of Gaia and Porto with this hotel. Port wine tasting all around the hotel. Would definitely recommend this hotel :)"

"The property is in a brilliant location for exploring Porto!!! We stayed in a garden view room with a balcony and it was very well laid out, spacious comfortable, clean and tidy. The bed was magic, the towels were fluffy and clean. The stay were kind and friendly from reception to the cleaning crew. Really enjoyed our stay"
