"I travel frequently and am comfortable staying in modest hotels as long as they are clean and safe. Unfortunately, The Capitol Hotel in Hartford raised serious safety concerns and appears to be significantly misrepresented online. The property does not resemble the photos on Expedia. The exterior is extremely run down, and the covered entrance had large holes in the roof with exposed pipes and roofing material hanging down, giving the immediate impression that the building is poorly maintained. My daughter arrived around 11 PM after a late flight. When she entered the lobby there were multiple people sleeping on the floor and in chairs, and she overheard the front desk telling someone without a room that they could sleep in the lobby for the night. This did not feel like a safe or properly managed environment for guests arriving late at night. While the room appeared old but generally clean, the bed was two box springs with only a thin mattress topper instead of a proper mattress, which is completely unacceptable and clearly not what is represented online. The listing also advertises a fitness center, but the front desk confirmed there is no gym. The television only received one channel. These issues reflect clear misrepresentation of the amenities advertised on Expedia. When I arrived the next morning, I was so concerned by the property conditions that we immediately checked out and left. Travelers should be aware that the actual conditions of this property"

"I must say that Dalos is the most proactive and communicative host I have ever encountered in my VRBO experiences. The loft apartment was clean and commodious with spacious bedrooms. Kitchen space and utensils was adequate. Laundry set up-A! There were some broken bathroom towel and toilet paper holders that detracted as did the ceiling water damage in the bedroom and flaking ceiling in the loft. However, we didn't experience any dripping water and it had just rained. Our greatest criticism is that the surrounding neighborhood was sketchy and it wasn't as conveniently located to attractions as advertised. Having a Dunkin' Donuts next door was great."

"Despite having confirmation and a discussion about arrival time, the space was not ready even when arriving after the agreed upon time. We’re also private and keep to ourselves, so it was uncomfortable for us to have to converse with the cleaner and owner while we waited. They were prompt in responding the first day when we had temp change needs. All responses stopped by the next day.The kitchen is super cute and had what we needed. The bathtub/shower is a water damage nightmare. The toilet is old with small plumbing. We needed a (ahem) toilet plunger. We never received a response. The space had parts “under renovation,” so I’m not sure why it was rented. The internet worked just fine. The beds need to be burned. We did not rest comfortably. I didn’t know box spring “futons” even existed still.The location is fantastic with regard to proximity to anttractions and highway. The neighborhood is just okay. Honestly, if you’re a city person it’s harmless. If you’re not used to mixing it up with all types at any time of day, this may not be for you.Overall, we will not return. It is not the quality of experience touted by VRBO."
