"Perfect stay in a wonderful location. The hotel was welcoming and the staff excellent - nothing was too much trouble. Beautiful gardens to sit and enjoy, small but delightful spa, lovely restaurant - dinner and breakfast were delicious. Can’t fault anything. Will definitely go back. Highly rated proper 4* hotel"

"Room was very clean and luxurious! Hot tub was lovely! The spa was amazing! We really enjoyed our stay. The only downfall was the charge for parking as we weren’t aware there was a cost, the amount was taken from my card and I was given a receipt at checkout but would have been nice to be aware of the charge before hand at check in. When paying so much for a hotel you would think parking is included. We would stay here again as it was a gorgeous break away. Food in the pub was very nice."

"Astaff very friendly, very accommodating with my daughter's medication storage needs. Nice room decorated in the Victorian style, beds were clean and comfy. Dinner was delicious and well worth the price of only £25 for two courses. Beautiful setting in the fells of shap lovely for a walk with red squirrels to spot while out and about star gazing is possible with extremely low light pollution."

"Great stay, we arrived while the hotel waa experiencing a local power cut and the team on duty couldn't have been more helpful. It was all resolved quickly and we had a brilliant weekend. The spa was clean and well maintained, breakfast was well cooked and the hotel was spotless. We stayed in a loft room with a sauna, steam room and spa bath and it was gorgeous. Light and airy with lots of space, we'll definitely be back!"

"We had an absolutely excellent stay. The food was outstanding, every meal was beautifully prepared. The staff could not do enough for us throughout our visit; they were warm, attentive, and made us feel completely looked after from start to finish. The location was perfect for what we wanted, and we honestly couldn’t have picked a better hotel. Everything came together to make our stay exceptional. FIVE STAR STAY ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"

"Beautiful hotel. The patio was fantastic, but only two parasols available for about eight tables outside. The staff were so very friendly and helpful. Lovely views overlooking Lake Windermere in the distance. The breakfast and lunch were brilliant. We took a walk around the gardens and tarn which were delightful. Free duck food is available at reception."
