"This property was everything we could have asked for and more. It has an awesome view right on the water. It is updated and clean. It was a great place to use as a home base while exploring Northern Michigan or just relaxing on the lake. We will likely be back next year."

"Based on the review’s, we booked our stay 9 months ago. We just completed our week and the property did not disappoint - We loved it! There were only four of us and our dog, so plenty of space for all of us. The property can definitely handle four times the amount of our group. The property came equipped with kayaks, paddle boards, fire pit, dock, and more. Very shallow water well out past the dock. You can see the dark edge where it drops. Great place for swimming, not so much for fishing. You need to be out in the deeper water where the shelf is where all the fishing boats were fishing. Jeff has a pontoon available for use for an additional fee. The area where this property sits is close to town, yet secluded and in a private area via a good dirt road. No road or traffic noise, was very quiet. Great star gazing at night. We were lucky enough to have no rain during our stay. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. Jeff was very responsive to the few questions we did have and was very accommodating. The wives said some of the skillets and baking pans were heavily used and could stand to be replaced, but were still usable. That is not a complaint, just something to be considered for the future. Our 12 year old black lab absolutely loved the lake. He spent much of his time swimming. We spent time kayaking and touring. My wife grew up in the area so we know a lot of secret spots most travelers have no idea about. Bottom line is we loved our stay. You will too!"

"This cabin stay was exactly what we needed as we prepared for our first Half IM 70.3 race. The water temperature was great to get some swim training in, as well as some relaxing paddle boarding and kayaking. The host was super easy to contact and very accommodating. We will be back!"

"Very comfy beds, kitchen very well equipped, nice lake with long pier, kayaks, awesome view from the home! We had a wonderful family time. As mentioned in other reviews the stairs to the second floor are not for young kids, elderly or handicapped but everything needed is on the first floor. Our adult children had no problem with the stairs. Thanks! (Also the property manager was so nice!)"

"The house is beautiful. Everything was clean and fresh. The views of the woods through the expansive windows was amazing. Communication with the host was great and the house was exactly as described in the listing. My mother in law said she would live there if she could."

"Our family stayed at Wha'Cha Dune the last week of August, 2024. We found the property to be as-described in the VRBO listing. The property is well-treed, which provides a sense of privacy, and there is plenty of room between the house and the lake to allow for pretty much any outdoor activities one might enjoy. There is a nice dock from which to fish or swim, and some watercraft (3 kayaks, one rowboat) which, although obviously well-used, provide additional recreation opportunities. The large back deck overlooking the water is a nice place to relax and enjoy the view, and the fire pit near the shoreline is a great place for nighttime gatherings. The lake temperature is a bit cool but definitely refreshing for swimming. It is mostly sandy-bottom near shore but gets weedy out just past the dock. Fishing action was unfortunately slow during our stay, with only fingerling perch and an occasional goby taking the bait. The interior, though dated, was comfortable and all systems were in working order. Note to larger families who like to cook at home: The kitchen is quite small, with room for only one ‘chef’ at a time to work the stove or do prep work. Overall, we enjoyed our stay."

"The cabin presented well. Clean and very comfortable for 4 people. It was our base from which we enjoyed torch lake and the local wineries. The lake on the property was pristine and we enjoyed the bonfire area both evenings. The quiet neighborhood was well kept and people were friendly. "
