Excellent farm house stay!

Our stay was outstanding! It was everything we were looking for: great owners, huge farm house in a tiny Tuscan village & views you have to see for yourself. It was great base for us to visit other Tuscan towns nearby. Elena & her husband gave us great suggestions for places to see and restaurants. Wish we were back there now...

Lovely view of hilltop village of Montichiello from the front yard. Pool was clean and house had all amenities needed. Owner was able to put us in touch with a chef for an alfresco dinner which she prepared and served. Great list of local restaurants provided. Convenient location to other val d'orcia towns for day trips. There was a plumbing issue in one of the showers but owners were notified and took care of.

Ideal Tuscan experience

The most incredible place to say in Tuscany!

We had an amazing time! Perfectly located, with an unbelievable view & access to lots of small towns and wineries. Fabio and Elena were incredible, helpful and kind. The private pool was a true highlight. Make sure to look up at the stars and fireflies during your visit! A must-stay.

Best house and perfect location in Tuscany

The house is located in the best area in Tuscany. It is close from many place to see and not that far from Sienna and Firenze. The house is very very clean and practice. Wonderful walks accessible all around and also by bikes. The tenants are among the most kind people there is and fully dedicated to help. We had a great stay !

Beautiful holiday home in beautiful location

The property is full of character and charm, set in beautiful gardens with amazing views. We found the house to be perfectly clean and equipped with everything we needed for our stay with three generations of our family. We thoroughly enjoyed using the large swimming pool, particularly our 2 year old granddaughter. Elena and Fabio were extremely welcoming and helpful with everything we needed. We have no hesitation in recommending their home for future visitors to Tuscany.

A truly wonderful holiday in a fabulous house

We can't thank Fabio and Elena enough for the sensational holiday we have just had in their lovely farmhouse near Monticchiello. The views from the house are stunning both from outside the house and from the pool area. They were also wonderful hosts and all their restaurant recommendations were excellent. Absolutely Lovely

We loved this property. It was the perfect base for our five day Tuscany vacation. The beautiful old farmhouse was so authentic and the owners were fantastic. They gave us restaurant suggestions and left helpful tips for us to ensure we saw all of the highlights in the area. Our favourite thing was sipping wine on the patio while looking at the amazing view of the hill towns and country scenery. This is the real Tuscan experience!

Wonderful stay at Agriturismo Collosodo

We were visiting Monticchiello for a wedding and had an amazing stay at Agriturismo Collosodo. Elena was so welcoming and told us everything we needed to know about the house and village. She was easy to contact prior to checking in and made everything very easy for us. The house had everything we needed and was within walking distance of the village. The views were incredible and we spent most of our time relaxing at the beautiful pool. We had a brilliant weekend and I would recommend Elena and her house to everyone!

Best views of Tuscany Rollinghills

This was one of the most beautiful and panoramic views of the Tuscany country side and rolling hills that one could wish for. Elena and her husband were excellent hosts and made sure we were comfortable and our stay was worry free. We enjoyed relaxing in the garden and having a glass of Tuscany wine admiring the peaceful scenic views. We had just visited Rome and needed some quiet time. I highly recommend staying here if you are looking for that true Italian Tuscany countryside experience.

Best view in Tuscany

Elena and Fabio are wonderful hosts. Always there when you need them without intruding. Delightful villa surrounded by fruit and nut trees. The figs, apples and almonds were in season during our stay and if you ever pick and eat a fig from a tree the days of ever buying them at a supermarket are over. The villa is set high on a hill overlooking the tuscan countryside and across at Monticchiello itself. Easy access to the surrounding villages. Our favorite spot however was sunset at the front, sipping some wine and watching the mountain towns light up and twinkle accross the hills.

Another Spectacular Week!

This is the 2nd time I have stayed in this beautiful home. Elena and Fabio are wonderful!! They make us feel like part of their family. The views of the countryside from their perch atop the hill are simply spectacular. And the property is very conveniently located, only a 20 minute drive to Piena or Montepulciano, and a little father to Montalcino; and only 3 minutes to the charming village of Montecchiello. The picturesque swimming pool provides a great break after long days exploring the Tuscan Hill towns. This truly is a wonderful property, and I hope I can return. Thank you Fabio and Elena!!

We had an amazing time at this very special place

This is a very special place, was by far one of the most enjoyable weeks we have ever had travelling and was the highlight of our trip to Italy. Elena and Fabio were great hosts, gave us some great tips and recommendations and we appreciated the opportunity to practise our Italian with this cheerful couple. The home suited our family of four perfectly, was well stocked with daily staples and the location of the home was perfect for us as it allowed us to do daytrips to a number of wonderful locations. It was close enough to walk into the great little hilltop town of Monticchielo, which we did on a number of occasions. Our boys loved the big private pool which was refreshing on the hot days and looked out over the valley and out to the town. All the views from the property were absolutely stunning as there is a near 360 degree view over the Tuscan countryside and you look right onto one of the iconic cypress lined winding roads we've seen in so many photos. We loved our time here and won't hesitate to recommend this place to our friends and we will definitely be returning. Thank you so much Elena and Fabio.

A perfect place and a wonderful experience

This charming farm house was the perfect match! We were exploring Tuscany at the beginning of June 2017 and found the ideal place to stay – an old farm house at Monticchiello close to wonderful historic cities/villages, wine-growing regions and wellness/thermal areas (Montalcino, Pienza or Montepulciano just 10-20 mins. driving, Siena or Orvieto approx. 1 hour, thermal baths/springs e.g. Bagno Vignone or Bagno San Filippo approx. 25 mins.). Our hosts Elena and Fabio were just lovely, very welcoming and kind. They provided valuable tips and recommendations about the region, restaurants or places to visit. We loved the calm, relaxed and private atmosphere - and of course the phenomenal view. The property is very well-maintained, we enjoyed the large pool, the well-equipped kitchen and were very thankful of the window/fly-screens in sleeping and bath rooms ;o) Elena & Fabio, many thanks for a wonderful time!

The perfect Tuscan location

We booked the house a year ago and were not disappointed. The house lies just outside the small village of Monticchiello overlooking the town and the via dei cipressi - arguably the prettiest road in Tuscany. The road to the house is a Strada Bianca and quite steep, so be prepared for some dust and rattling. Elena greeted us and showed us the house enthusiastically. Although English was limited, we communicated without problems. The rooms are large and although not air conditioned, the stone walls and nighttime breezes kept temperatures comfortable (we stayed there during a fortnight with daytime temperatures in the 97-100F range). The swimming pool was a great boon. The kitchen was well equipped and a washing machine made it easy to keep clothes clean. Internet was sufficient for most things (and let’s face it, you’re not here to be gaming!). Pienza and Montepulciano are both visible from the house and about 15 minutes away. We would definitely stay here again. Mille grazie Elena e Fabio!

Heaven on Earth

Heaven on earth – Agritursmo Collosodo is absolutely heaven on earth. Perched above the village of Montechiello, overlooking one of the most photographed, Cyprus-lined, twisting roads in Tuscany, this lovely farmhouse is taken care of by Elena and Fabio; who also took wonderful care of my husband, 13-year-old son and me during our four-night stay. We were welcomed with coffee-cake for our first morning which we ate in Elena’s beautiful garden surrounding the house which had been her grandmother’s. The next afternoon we were met with fresh-picked cherries from Elena’s sister’s garden. We enjoyed the cherries pool-side as the heat had climbed in Tuscany to unusual temps. We traveled out in the mornings to Cortona (45 minute drive) or Montepulciano (25 minute drive), got take-out pizza from a shop Fabio recommended or wine tasted at the nearby Pulciano winery and enjoyed the area’s famous Pecorino with a glass of wine once happily back at Collosodo. After the heat of the day, a trip to Piensa for dinner was perfect but so was the dinner in Montechiello where we could look back up the hill and enjoy seeing where we’d been sitting only an hour earlier. We loved our stay and only wish it could be longer. We will definitely be back and feel lucky to have found this Tuscan gem.

Bellissimo Collosodo!

We are joining the chorus of other reviewers who have raved about their stay at Collosodo. My husband and I stayed for nearly a month and loved it. The house feels like home and Elena and Fabio couldn’t be more gracious. They live on the other side of the house and take meticulous care of the house and the grounds, which include the lovely pool. They were around and checked in regularly to make sure everything was okay but were also considerate of our privacy and so were never intrusive. But because they were around, unlike other VRBO rentals that we’ve had where the owners lived far away, they were readily available with friendly smiles and attended to any minor issues that arose. They also gave us great tips for eating out and places to visit and shop for food. The house is very comfortable with a nice size kitchen that is well outfitted. It was great to arrive and have eggs and juice in the fridge and pastries on the counter along with all of the necessary staples in the cabinets. There is plenty of space in the bathrooms for toiletries, lots of blankets in the closets (although we never needed them) and plenty of fresh towels every week. I combed every review before I arrived and no one mentioned the beds. So I’m adding that they are firm and provide good back support. Most of all, the views are absolutely sensational! A painter, I came with the intention of painting the scenery in the area. I painted everyday from the yard! Grazie mille Elena e Fabio!

Lovely Place

This property is a very nice way to spend some time in Tuscany. It is well situated near several notable hill towns (Pienza, Montepulciano, Montalcino, Bagno Vignoni, and Siena to name a few), keeping in mind that "near" in Tuscany parlance (i.e. you can see your intended destination from where you are), might still mean a 30-40 min drive to get there (windy roads, some unpaved). You MUST have a car. The dwelling is a well maintained farm house. It is not a castle. It is however charming and cozy and rustic and reasonably well appointed. The hot water is hot. We opened the windows at night and slept like the dead. The hosts live in the attached house next door. We didn't require much from them as I had been to the area before, but they were charming and helpful when needed, and responded to my email queries prior to our stay very quickly. The property is typical of the area. Situated near the top of a hill, with a sweeping view of the surrounding countryside. The outdoor space is comfortable, and we made breakfast every morning (the kitchen could accommodate a more elaborate meal as well) and ate outside under some nice tall trees while watching the morning light envelop the surrounding hills. There are far worse ways to start your day. Remember to get provisions for cooking and snacking while you're out, as there are no 7-Elevens nearby and ordering delivery is not a thing. The Conad in Montepulciano is a large supermarket and there are several smaller COOP supermarkets in the area as well. The pool is quite nice and would serve a larger party well, but we didn't have much time to use it. There is a barbeque grill and charcoal available, but we just had some wine and cheese while sitting outdoors. I highly recommend that very simple and peaceful activity to remind you why you came to Tuscany in the first place. Overall, a very nice and pleasant place to stay.

Super hôtes!

Belle vieille maison typique de la Toscane ayant appartenue à la grand-mère d’Elena, notre hôte. Bien située dans un décor de rêve avec comme vue Monticchiello, Montepulciano et Pienza. Aurait besoin de quelques améliorations mais rien de vraiment dérangeant et qui ont été compensées par une réponse très rapide de Fabio le gentil propriétaire. L’accueil a été des plus chaleureux, les informations très pertinentes et nous nommons Elena et Fabio des super hôtes!

Het Toscaanse gevoel met geweldig uitzicht en verfrissend zwembad.
