Situated in the wonderful town of Pickering in the North York Moors National Park, this charming cottage has been completely renovated throughout to welcome you on stay to remember.. Ground Floor:

Bedroom 2: 2 x Single (3ft) Beds, Smart TV. Gas central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. . Enclosed back garden with sitting-out area. Private parking for 1 car. No smoking.. Built in the traditional honey-coloured sandstone typical of this area, Pear Tree Cottage is around two centuries old, yet has a contemporary feel inside. Everything has been newly purchased in 2023, following an extensive restoration. Stepping inside, you have an open plan livingdining room with an Italian sofa suite in front of a large flame-effect fire gives this room a really sumptuous feel. The adjoining kitchen is modern, yet tastefully chosen for its authentic country feel, and there is a beautifully presented shower room also on the ground floor. Doors from the kitchen lead out into your private enclosed garden, which bursts with colour through the spring and summer and has the name sake pear tree, which if you are lucky enough may provide you with freshly grown fruit. Upstairs are are a double and twin bedroom, both with TVs and inbuilt storage for your belongings.
Pickering is a wonderful base for exploring the North York Moors and the nearby coastline. This pretty market town has a medieval castle and a steam train that winds its way over the rolling heather, through valleys and over hills to many picturesque villages all the way to Whitby ideal for a special day out. In December they even have a themed Christmas Santa Special on the steam train. The North Yorks Moors are a haven for walkers with many trails to explore and an abundance of wildlife.
Nearby is Malton, the food capital of Yorkshire, with its market, award-winning restaurants and a cookery school. For history lovers, Castle Howard is one of Britain’s finest stately homes, sure to fill you with awe, or take a trip to the Ryedale Folk Museum. There are also the beaches at Scarborough, Filey and Bridlington waiting to be explored. Children can enjoy a day out to remember at Flamingoland theme park and zoo, less than 10 minutes away. Beach 18½ miles. Shop ¼ mile, pub and restaurant 60 yards.

Overall very good, the only quibble was the shower cubicle small and took a while to empty, not really a big deal but worth a mention. Would book again. 10 min walk into Pickering and local buses. Parking space a bonus. Nice sun trap on back and welcome pack was very good
