"It’s a 3 star stay but with 5 star cleanliness and service, lovely people and the room was big with a very clean comfortable bed, the decor was nice enough but a little rough around the edges, certainly why it’s a 3 star- fresh paint but not to the highest of standards, functional furniture but needs updating etc, I would stay there again."

"Really enjoyed our stay at Ashbys. Steve and Mubi were warm, welcoming and helpful and the room and public spaces (lounge / games room, kitchen, bar area) were comfortable and well equipped. It was clear that a lot of thought has been given to making Ashbys a unique place to stay: welcoming, relaxing and fun. A great location too for the bars, seafront and Southsea attractions! Our bathroom window needed a blind - more for the neighbours than anything! - and the bedroom a second bedside table...

"Our stay at the East Beach Guesthouse was fantastic! The owners Rich & Mark were so welcoming to us & our dog! The guesthouse is right on the beachfront with parking just across the road (free parking pass given to us on arrival) & the guesthouse is beautiful. Great comfy bed, the room was spotless, great views, tea, coffee, biscuits, dog treats & a lovely breakfast served in the guest lounge. Thank you for everything Rich & Mark & hopefully we’ll see you both again soon! "

"This is a lovely inn/pub in a pretty village. It was very clean and well-kept. The service was extremely friendly and accommodating. The pub has wonderful food. We tried a South African platter, and it was amazing. Would definitely recommend a stay here. "

"Heather was an amazing host; a lovely lady who made you feel very welcome from arrival until departure. Breakfast, although continental had a very wide range of choice. Menu's were available to order a takeaway which we did on arrival. Safe parking is available at the property, along with ironing facilities. Yes, the building is worn and dated and could benefit from some repairs and decoration, but if you're just doing a quick visit which we were, this is a great choice."

"Self service so expected some instructions - couldnt get tv to work. Coffee, tea n sugar provided - no milk. Kettle supplied on shelf - no plug nearby. Low light - difficult to read. However good location, warn and clean - also cheap. :)"

"A really lovely little place to stay. The room was spacious and the bed super comfortable. Having kitchen facilities to use is a bonus although we didn’t use them. The shower wasn’t great (rain head only) and I really struggled to work it. It would also be great to have a mirror in the bedroom area for getting ready as the only mirror was in the bathroom. "

"Was attending a conference at the Farnborough Conference center and this was a quick 5 minute walk from there (through a shortcut). Room was spacious and had everything I needed. Breakfast is freshly cooked and comes with quite a few choices."
