Good location

Good location and great if you are travelling to area with out a car. Flat was clean and comfortable but with a little attention to detail could easily be elevated to a really good flat. Entrance needs a good clean and paint and better street signage on the door. Shower very temperamental, scalding hot or freezing cold. Outside area could be easily do with a bit of attention. Seems as if the owner has lost heart and passion in this lovely little flat.

予約：二重支払いの罠 ::::: Hotels.comで予約完了、これで一安心、と思った直後に運営会社Sykes Cottageから「アカウントを作成してください」メールが届く。アカウントを作成したところ、Hotels.comで予約時にすでに支払い済みなのに、Sykes側ではなぜか「未払い」ステータスのままで、部屋代をもう一度支払うように誘導されるという、まさかの二重支払いトラップ。確認のためにアプリのメッセージツールやメールなど、あらゆる手段でSykesに問い合わせるも何の返事もなく、最終的にはHotels.comに電話して確認を依頼しました。 そして約5日後、突然の「支払い済み」ステータスへの変更。一体なんだったのか。危うく二重払いになるところでした。 予約時にHotels.comで支払い済みの方は、Sykesからの支払い案内に要注意です。 キーの受け渡し：セルフサービス方式 スタッフとの対面なし:::: Sykesから暗証番号を教えてもらい、その番号を使ってキーボックスから自分で鍵を取り出す方式です。それはいいのですが、 現地に着いたところキーボックスが一つではなく非常に分かりにくかったです。 建物を正面から見て左端の方、通りに面した場所のキーボックスが正解。 建物右側の側面にも別途2か所のダミー？のキーボックスあり。 急な階段： エレベーターなしで建物中央の階段を2階分上る必要があります。しかも、なかなかの急勾配。重いスーツケースを持っている場合や、足に不安がある方は要注意です。 エアコン： エアコンはなく、小さな扇風機がありました。 タオル：最低限 用意されているのはバスタオル3枚。 ハンドタオルなどはなし。 私は念のため100均でタオルを何枚か買って持参していたのでセーフ。 部屋の匂い： 他の方のレビューにもある通り、部屋、特にベッドルームが死ぬほどカビ臭かったです。窓を開けて、扇風機も回して換気しましたが、10分やそこらで解消する匂いではなく、これでは寝ることも出来なさそうだったため、近くのスーパーでファブリーズと消臭スプレーを購入し、部屋中に噴射しました。3泊の滞在中にファブリーズのボトル1本をほぼ使い果たしました。 清潔度：自分で仕上げるスタイル::: 全体的に埃っぽく、あまり入念に清掃されていない印象でした。キッチンは比較的きれいでした。 一番気になったのはベッドリネン類で、前述のとおりカビ臭いのにプラスして、いつ洗濯されたのか不明で、シーツもアイロンがかけられてない感じでシワだらけ。正直ここで寝たくないと思いました。 騒音： 騒音は特に気になりませんでした。 一階はフィットネススタジオのような感じで、日中はレッスンの音楽が聞こえてきます。 ロケーション：唯一にして最大の強み::: 駅からすぐ。 買い物にも便利。 とにかく立地が最高。 まとめ::: 今回の宿泊で一番素晴らしかったのは何か。ロケーション。この一言に尽きます。 いろいろ書きましたが、駅近・買い物便利という強みはかなり大きいです。 便利さを取るか、快適さを取るか。 その答えを身をもって考えさせてくれる、なかなか味わい深い宿でした。
