"How would I summarize our experience at Castello di Volognano? 10 out of 10. The castle is more than a place to sleep during your travels. It is a destination in and of itself. For just five days, my family and I felt like Italian dignitaries. We received a royal greeting from Iacopo, the castle's concierge. Perfecting the art of being invisible yet always available, he graciously attended to our every need. We arrived and were greeted with a beautiful glass of Chianti as we listened to Iacopo give an interesting talk about the castle's wine and olive oil production. We enjoyed charcuterie, a tasting of the vineyards' wines, and a light dinner, which included the best lasagna I have ever tasted. Inside the castle, you are immersed in history, art, and architecture like no other. You can't help but feel that you've transported back in time but forward in social status. The backyard will be your gathering place for morning coffee and late-afternoon cocktails. Being on the top of the hill, your views of the Tuscan countryside are as magnificent as the sounds and scents wafting through the cooling breeze. Every single one of my family loved the castle. Ours was a busy trip. Our only regret was not booking one more night just to relax and enjoy our surroundings. We will return as soon as we can! It was a blissful experience, and I highly recommend it."

"Gianfranco is a superb host, he was waiting for us on arrival and gave us a guided tour of the property to make sure we were familiar with everything. A very kind man who provided a welcome basket of his own Olive oil and local wine. The property is excellent, the location and views superb and everything a group wanting to relax in Tuscany could ask for. If you want to walk in the area, the village of Quota with an excellently stocked local shop is 1.5 miles away and there are track through the valley to neighbouring villages if you want to go off the beaten track. The Town of Poppi is about 3.5 miles away and is well worth a visit, great local cafe's and stores in abundance. Poppi station will provide rail travel to Florence and beyond if you do not want to do too much driving so no excuses not to go and explore Tuscany."

"This is a well contained villa with a beautiful garden surrounding the property. As a group of friends we enjoyed all the comforts of the property including the swimming pool. Spent relaxing times in the porch beside the kitchen. The bedrooms are well furnished and clean. The kitchen is well equipped. The hosts Santa and Giovanni are lovely and stocked the kitchen with complimentary essentials and drinks. They also provided some vegetables from their allotment which was very kind of them. We spent a comfortable long weekend in the villa and highly recommend for rental."

"Most importantly, the staff were lovely, professional and helpful. They provided a superior breakfast. The property was newly renovated to a very high specification, the pool area was beautiful along with the other out buildings. Even the bedding was wonderful quality. 10 minutes from Arezzo, a perfect location for fun in town and relaxation by a pool. Great for a couple, family or big house party. "
