"Perfect location to see all of Tahiti. We went to see surfing At Teahupo’o and stayed in this town with a grocery store and restaurants. Once the upstairs kitchen is complete it will be a perfect gem. "

Excellent
Papeete is the jump-off spot for everything in French Polynesian...a round the island drive and the Market are both must dos.

Good
Busy streets and not walkable/bicycle worthy due to fast traffic and narrow streets without sidewalk/footpath area. Large hotel compounds best suited to travelers used to all amenities. Stunning views and humid.

The area is very diverse. It is also convenient to many restaurants and shopping. Close to the airport. Parking can be a challenge.
"Tucked down a suburban alleyway between a petrol station and a supermarket, Tea Tahiti is an unpretentious guesthouse, but it has everything you need – walking distance from the port and city centre; friendly, helpful staff; simply decorated rooms with air conditioning, comfortable beds, ensuite bathroom, fridge, microwave, kettle and utensils; outdoor furniture and a swimming pool; onsite car hire and transfers. Our airport transfer for a 4am flight was no problem and reasonably priced. On the downside, the view is of neighbouring buildings and the car yard, reception has limited hours, and the gardens are not very well established. But with the occasional dogs barking, geckos chirping, the rooster crowing and the chickens pecking round our feet as we sat by the pool, it felt like an authentic slice of Tahitian life."
"I did not received the VIP perk credit for my stay.
the noise outside from the window was too loud I could not sleep. Other than that, nice property to stay."
"Gorgeous place. About 20 min drive from airport. Staff very friendly and accommodating. The pool is amazing. Beach is black sand. Hotel offers free kayaking with your stay. Food was good but pricey. No meals were included. The rooms were lovely. The suites had 2 floors and 2 balconies with beautiful views of the beach and listening to the waves when falling asleep. Highly recommend "
"Reception staff were extremely welcoming and very friendly. Even when checking-in in the early hours of the morning. The room was very comfortable & it was great you had the option of opening the window. Very convenient location & as a solo traveler I felt really comfortable."
