2/10 Terrible

"This hotel did not meet the level of service I would expect for the price point (~800/night). Unfortunately, during our stay my 4-year-old became ill while we were traveling in Italy, and when we asked whether any modification or flexibility was possible, the response was immediately “no” without much empathy or effort to help. We were also charged extra because our child needed a separate bed, despite normally co-sleeping with us, and the room we were assigned felt noticeably less appealing than many of the other rooms and common areas in the hotel. The contrast in ambiance was obvious. The location is convenient, but overall the experience lacked the warmth, flexibility, and hospitality I would expect from a luxury property, especially during a family emergency."

The Hive Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"We stayed at the Hive for 3 nights. Front desk staff were great and super informative. Room was very spacious and clean. Great location, walkable to most things or easy access to train station. We enjoyed the rooftop bar every afternoon before we went for dinner in the neighbourhood. It had a lovely atmosphere and good music playing The only things that we off putting was on the second night we were accused of charging drinks to the wrong room the previous night. Also, the guy who brought a steamer to our room basically barked at my husband we were only allowed to use it for 1 hour, he was rude. Other than that overall, a great stay!"

8/10 Good

"The hotel had clearly been renovated, with modern fixtures and design. Breakfast was a great addition. The rooms were very noisy at night, with multiple doors “slamming” in the hallway throughout the late night and early morning. It seemed oddly loud for a hotel that didn’t seem that busy. Also, the hotel advertised a free airport shuttle. However, we had to ask twice to set it up and it ended up being a taxi that then up charged us for not having cash when we got to the airport. This property does not actually offer an airport shuttle and should better control the companies they work with. I would have just used uber."

Gioberti Hotel

6/10 Okay

"Found the property well maintained. Next to the transit system. Nice roof top area for breakfast. Did not have it open in the evening which is a shame. Would have been nice to sit up there to have a cocktail to wind down after a long day sightseeing. There is way to many people trying to sell you things while sitting and having dinner at a sidewalk cafe. The city was way too congested which took away from our stay. Best time to come to Rome is December, January and February."
