"The room was basic and appeared to have been made up in a hurry - wastebin liner not fitted to allow waste to be deposited and no teaspoons. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. There was evidence of repair work in the bathroom where different tiles had been poorly fitted - but it was clean and functional. The pizza served at dinner was as good as you would get anywhere in mainland Italy - obviously fresh and piping hot. Breakfast was excellent, a very good selection to serve all tastes, hot food hot and a good selection. Friendly and attentive staff, although a call to reception went unanswered for some while during a busy check-in period. The current drought conditions didn't show off the gardens to their full potential and paved walkways had quite a number of loose slabs."

"A nice hotel with a little out in the sticks. The hotel is situated in beautiful grounds with its own pub on the side serving excellent pub grub. Rooms are available both in the hotel itself or in self contained rooms around the property. I have stayed here many times as it is well situated for both Grimsby and Immingham and covers all bases."

"Nice place to stay for overnight breakfast was ok but only have scrambled eggs. 1 of the coffee machines was not working while we were there so had to queue for coffee. Parking has to be payed for on arrival from a machine car park is run by a separate company."

"A very enjoyable stay, the staff were very friendly and very helpful. The Hotel is very charming and has a lot of local history. I'm sure if I end up staying in Grimsby again then I will seriously consider staying here again. Highly recommend."
