"Horrible check in experience here- i paid w my work Visa that has both my name and my business on it but the front desk guy made me fill a form out, took my license and seemed to write or copy info on it down. I couldn’t see behind the window what he wrote, nor do i know why he took the info, sooo sketchy! I was made to feel like I did something terribly wrong and his wifi didn’t even work, to allow me to change the reservation name!!! Then he said i needed to pay a security deposit and it would be refunded in 2-3 business days. Again, for a very sub par motel on the side of the highway, that sounded like an F-1 track at night. Needless to see it was very noisy from the highway, and from the sound of an appliance of some kind that was on somewhere, and then plus noise from upstairs and next door!! There was also no number on my room door and it was painted a different colour from all the others and it was in the corner of the two rows as it were. Really a strange and sketchy place. I was so stressed by the check in experience, i didn't sleep one bit. The bed sheets seemed wrinkled, the bed blanket cover is very thin and the room was FREEZING cold. And the bathroom is tiny too. There was no wifi- it didn’t even work at the front desk or in my room. Don’t stay here if you don’t have to. Avoid!!! I’ll be checking for my unexpected fee “security deposit” refund on Wednesday, and you can bet they’ll never be hearing the end of it if it isn’t promptly found."

"I am submitting this review to warn future guests of serious safety issues and misrepresentation by the host. This reservation was for three guests, and the listing stated “parking on site,” which reasonably implied space vehicles. Check‑in instructions were supposed to be provided three days before arrival, but none were sent. After contacting VRBO, the host advised the patio door would be left unlocked with a key inside. Upon arrival, the key did not lock the door, leaving the property unsecured. The pathway had no lighting and unstable steps, and neither of the two doors could be locked from the inside. This violates basic guest safety expectations and raises concerns about compliance with minimum accommodation standards. Inside the unit, we found broken blinds with no privacy, bed in front of door, a TV with power but no functioning ports, no coffee maker or kettle, no smoke or carbon monoxide detectors, an unclean bathroom mirror, and only two towels for three guests. There was no direct contact information given for the host. After reporting the issues via VRBO and providing video evidence, the host denied responsibility and falsely claimed that five guests stayed and that we arrived with two cars without notice. Both statements are untrue; I confirmed the two vehicles with the host prior to arrival, and we have video proof showing only the three registered guests. Based on this experience I strongly advise future guests to exercise caution when looking at this place"

"What a great getaway! Beautiful old Inn w/ many different style of rooms... we stayed in the Sinclair Suite- a large main floor suite in the adjacent building. The food is amazing & service as well! Close to quaint downtown Fergus & only 5 minutes to Elora!"
