"I did not check in because the hotel lobby was locked and the man who greeted me required that I walk to a nearby gas station to use my credit card there to check in. The gas station at that time was a crime scene with numerous police cars, fire trucks, and ambulances present. Crime scene tape surrounded the property. Police were still there an hour later when I left the area and stayed at Motel 6 (which I booked through Expedia)."

The city was very nice. There were many strip malls for shopping as well as chain stores such as Target and Walmart. There were fast food restaurants as well as many dine in restaurants. I wish I had more time to shop during our stay.

Opelika is a small southern town that offers many shopping and dining options within the area. I ventured out and was able to find a Target, Dollar Tree, mini malls, burger and seafood places, and more.

I recommend going to the state park in Auburn it's only a few exit down and go to the waterfall.. It's beautiful !
"I appreciated the fact that the back door was locked at all times to all except those who had a room key. However, the second day, my key would not unlock the door even though it would still unlock my room."
"Property was good. Lady at checkin was excellent. Room was good but door to room doesn't close easily. Door Will pop open if you're not careful. Breakfast wasn't too good. Sausage patties were very overcooked and eggs were undercooked. Pool was really nice. I'd stay here again. "

"All the important things like great pillows, plenty of covers, great mattress, hot water, good water pressure were great. Breakfast was a bust. No pancake mix. Waiting for delivery. Employees Msrcus and Felcia spook to me, told me their names and incisted that i let them know if we needed anything. Great location near Ft. BENNING.

"Wonderful and clean! People were very nice! Breakfast was yummy & light. They had grab an go options and I love Microtel!
It was so nice to get off work and take a hot shower watch tv and go to bed! Quiet and clean & off by itself."
"It was slightly difficult to find because the GPS takes you to Lowe’s. However, it is located behind Lowe’s. It’s in area with lots of restaurants & shopping centers which is a plus as well. The price was excellent also. The place & room were very clean and well kept. Staff were friendly also. Breakfast is the typical hotel provided breakfast- waffles, eggs, sausage, cereal, coffee, juice, etc. Most importantly to me, however, was it was QUIET. I never heard anyone while inside our room both nights we stayed. I will definitely rebook if visiting this area again. "
