The Church of Our Lady of the Assumption and churchyard has historical significance for its strong associations with the early development of the fencible settlement of Onehunga, and with people of significance in the Catholic Diocese of Auckland.
The Church of the Assumption has architectural significance for its striking Gothic Revival design and as an important work of the practice Edward Mahoney and Sons, major contributors to the ecclesiastical architecture of Auckland.

"The place was really nice. Quite big and quiet and comfortable. The only things wrong is the water pressure is terrible and the hot water didn’t stay hot very long. And the driving range was closed. Great staff though. And the food was great at the 19th hole. "

"Very comfortable quality accommodation in a spacious modern room, with touches of luxury. Lots of night time street noise. Attentive and helpful staff. Be aware of an uninformed practice of scanning photo ID at check-in. View from the “Vantage King Room” on Level 2 was directly into the Conference Centre, so if you want a view be sure to request it. Would stay again 👍 "
