"Very pleased with the accommodation, had never been to winchelsea before but loved where the house was. Proper old building with creaky floors and doors which we loved. The host had left a basket of lovely goodies for us and there was everything we needed. Great garden to sit in too. "

"This is a lovely place to stay in a beautiful area. All that it looks to be on the website it is. The only thing worth foregrounding (though the website is actually clear about this) is that the property is located in the middle of the owners' property, opposite their house, so if you want complete rural isolation, you're not going to get that. But the owners are friendly and very much keep to themselves if you don't want to chat. This is typical of the consideration they show in the upkeep...

"We stayed for four nights in June and were delighted with the facilities provided. One king size bedroom, one double bedroom and a small room suitable for a child (we brought our own crib for the baby). Small details like the stair gate and a few toys helped too. The patio furniture was well used as we had glorious weather. Staplecross is well placed for exploring Rye. Hastings, local vineyards and National Trust properties. We would like to return next year!"

"Property owner is very social, friendly and helpful. Some items in property are in for an update ; -larger main bed ( 2 x 80 cm) with firmer mattresses -remove bath for walk-in shower, to allow for more space in bathroom"

"Property is in a great location, an old beautiful cottage. Everything was excellent. The shower was luke warm, but couldn't fault anything else. I had problems with the App so contacted the owner who was very helpful. A lovely stay - thank you"
