"I booked the stay last minute and didn’t have a chance to look into the location, amenities or the rooms themselves. There was a damp smell throughout the hotel that made me think there was mold somewhere. I am an architect and it felt like if I focused my attention on anything specific I was going to find that what I was focusing on was broken; not working properly, crooked, etc. The towels were tiny, the tv was tiny and didn’t seem to work, the bedside tables looked salvaged, the ceilings were extremely low, the sheets were not comfortable, the key card for my door barely worked and I had to attempt to open the door about 15 times before it would work (and I’m not exaggerating). I would never stay there again."

"stayed with dogs. Was not expecting to pay a $100 dog fee at a la quinta. Because I had 3 dogs, I was charged a pet fee for both rooms I paid for - even though the dogs were in only one room. Would be whatever it is, but we got a room that had mold or water stains on the ceiling of bathroom closet. Sheets on bed very coarse and scratchy. Traveling with brothers who are mentally disabled and not only were we not given connected rooms as I requested, but the rooms were not next to each + the phone in the one room was completely disconnected so my brothers were unable to contact me. I had to keep running down the hallway to check on them, etc. Dog rooms were all placed in the first floor hallway which was under construction. I prepaid for 2 rooms - 1 for only one night and the other for 2 nights just so my brothers had a comfortable place to stay during the day while I was away with dogs. Found out that the hotel was trying to charge an extra night, an extra $100 dog fee because manager had taken off and left a very inexperienced person on her own."

Hollywood Casino & Hotel

6/10 Okay

"The sports bar in casino was great. Got a smoking room. Inexperienced check in lady blamed" third party " for giving us a smoking room and ranted a bit. Really, we would have preferred non but offer to spray it at least. Dont treat like I'm a problem for trying your property or asking politely if any non are available. Btw... 3rd, party ( Expedia ) did not have room marked as smoking when it was selected, nor does it even mention there are smoking rooms. We didn't know that was a thing....bathroom made me gag dirty but nice guy came up right away and cleaned it. An apology goes a long way people. You should try it."
