"Location great. However, from what looks like a nice Victorian hotel from the road and the public areas, the accommodation itself was very poor. Fraying furniture, yellowing installations including the phone, which didn’t work. No air-con or fans available on the 30c hottest day of the year. The room was an oven and we had little sleep. Add to that, the bar and restaurant were closed and £16 for the pleasure of using their own parking! Continental Breakfast was passable, ignoring the squashed croissants, albeit for the price I would have expected a full English without the £25 supplement for the two of us. I think my overall conclusion is this could easily be 5*’s with a bit more attention to detail and not just relying on its location to sell rooms. Disappointing."
