"Absolutely Perfect Stay at Villa Cayo Our stay at Villa Cayo was nothing short of perfect. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that every detail had been thoughtfully considered to create a relaxing and memorable experience. The villa itself is stunning—immaculately clean, beautifully maintained, and surrounded by lush, vibrant nature that made every day feel like a dream. What truly made our stay unforgettable was our incredible host, Virginia. She welcomed us with such warmth and kindness that we immediately felt at home—like we were staying with family. Virginia is not only thoughtful and attentive to every need, but also a joy to be around. She took the time to educate us on the beautiful plants growing around the villa, sharing her knowledge with such enthusiasm and passion. Conversations with her were always fun and engaging, and her genuine care for her guests shone through in everything she did. We felt completely cared for and truly connected, which made our time at Villa Cayo all the more special. We can’t recommend this place highly enough. If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway with the most thoughtful host you could hope for, this is it. We would return in a heartbeat! "

"The perfect place to stay in San Ignacio! You can easily walk to the main streets of town, and it's only a short drive to places like Cahal Pech and Xunantunich. The staff was wonderful, and our room was a crisp, air-conditioned oasis after being out in the sunshine! Our room had a balcony, but there's also a nice shaded sitting area by the bar. Although we felt pretty safe anyways, they do have security after 8pm, which made us feel even better. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel, and I would definitely stay here again if I revisit San Ignacio. "

"It waa great, especially for the price for 3 people. We had 2 queens & a sofa bed & everything was very comfortable & clean. We lovec the pool & the restaurant was nice too. The staff was very nice & gave us a lil tour & brought our bags to our room. The only negative thing for some people is no elevator. Still, highly recommend!!"

"We really enjoyed our stay under the canopy. The pool was gorgeous & the food was amazing. We enjoyed the lazy river & proximity to Xunantunich. The road into the resort is rough, so be prepared for 5 miles of dirt/gravel at the end. We arrived at night, which I don’t recommend."

"We enjoyed our stay at Mariposa, the tone was set the moment we arrived. We checked in late and I went to go run in to give our information, our server Robby insured that he needed to greet us properly and asked all our guests to come in for a welcome drink which we thoroughly enjoyed, the kitchen was also waiting on to offer us dinner before they went home for the evening. We stayed in blue morpho which was close to the pool and bar. There was accessible parking. Staff was accompanying to all our needs whether it was supplying us with a cooler or packing us breakfast to go for our excursion. Please keep in mind you are in the JUNGLE, there are bugs, they are hard to avoid and they will be in your room no matter how nice. Please watch for ticks, two members of our party got ticks from the hammock. There is jungle noise all night, yelling weasels, curious monkeys. Enjoy these rare moments you may never get to witness again. The property had more amenities we weren’t able to take advantage of such as the bird tower but I recommend you do if time allows. Property is very close to mountain pine ridge park. San Ignacio town is approximately 20 minutes away so I recommend a car if you plan on visiting town. My only complaint is that 2/4 days we noticed housekeeping left our door unlocked after leaving. "
