What a beautiful experience! I HIGHLY recommend. My husband and I were looking for a quiet, peaceful, jungle experience and Mystic River delivered. The grounds are beautiful and well kept, and our room was wonderful and the bed was comfy. Steve, Mike & Olivia went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. Steve & Olivia took care of us at the facility and Mike was our wonderful tour guide the entire stay. The food was delicious and perfectly plated (many thanks to the chef) and the rum punch was very good & hit the spot (many thanks to Steve 😉). Our room was fun. Steve delivered fresh coffee & pastries to our front door every morning. It had a plunge pool and was right along the beautiful Macal River. We got to see toucans!! The only negative is the neighboring resort's generator!!! Mystic River is solar powered so there's no generator noise whatsoever. It's very unfortunate the other resort isn't cognitive of the noise their generator is causing. Apparently it just recently happened.

The jungle setting, rooms and balconies are genuinely stunning. That is where the positives end. No air conditioning, a horrendous access road, and overpriced mediocre food with zero alternatives due to the remote location. Most importantly — we lost a canoe and were left stranded on the other side of the river. The resort had no staff available to retrieve us. A neighbouring resort rescued us free of charge while Mystic River prioritized finding their canoe over stranded guests. They charged us $2,660 USD for replacement. The same canoe retails for $600 USD. Documentation provided was a handwritten receipt with no supplier name, brand or model, dated two months after the incident and covering two canoes rather than one. We disputed the charge with our credit card company and lost despite the questionable documentation. We contacted the resort directly requesting a reasonable resolution. After some initial communication they stopped responding entirely. The neighbouring resort that rescued us free of charge stands in sharp contrast to how Mystic River treated us. Read the liability waiver very carefully before signing anything here.

The hotel and property were not as advertised. There is no air conditioning on site in any building used by guests. We were forced to seek other lodgings after a termite swarm invaded both rooms, the pool, dining area and reception. We paid for two rooms for two nights, and yet were given no partial refund despite our being on site for less than two hours. I do not recommend this hotel, ever.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Mystic River Resort in Early June and the whole experience has made me fall in love with Belize. The property is immaculately maintained and incredibly clean, my room was upgraded free of charge which included a plunge pool on the balcony which definitely added to the experience !. The property overlooks the Macal river which adds an ethereal vibe to the whole experience and is surrounded by a myriad of varying wildlife. The staff really re-defined amazing hospitality for me, they were both kind and always went the extra mile whenever required no ask was too big or too small and they are true credit to the establishment, service was always presented with a smile and their was no forceful upselling and everything was done in a kind and appreciative manner. The food was also something out of this world with a selection of Belizean, American and both Mayan and Garifuna food available. The excursions on offer were also varied and exciting and health and safety was always prioritized and they were easy to book onto. I truly miss seeing the humming birds at breakfast flying in and out of the restaurant and the sound of the river and the toucans in the evening. Overall it has re-defined what true hospitality and experience means to me and have thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience so much so I cannot wait to return !.

Our family stayed at Mystic village last week. We had two units next to each other. The staff was amazing and the overall resort exceeded our expectations. Loved the bar and restaurant which was overlooking the river. We had several day trips and the resort coordinated for us. Pool area was nice after a long day of touring.

The property was clean and very quiet, only the sounds of the jungle. Food was very good, refreshing swimming pool, comfortable beds, spacious rooms, but the standouts are the staff. Very warm and friendly staff, very accommodating. We left and went to the beach, too raucous, so we came back for the remainder of our time in Belize. Shout out to Giovanni, Nigel, Steve, Flora, Marcos, Raina, Marlin, and Mike. Don’t miss the bird walk and night walk in the jungle.

Love how green this resort is. Most of the food is grown on the property. The property is small and the staff give you lot of personal attention. All cabins have beautiful private decks, and they bring you coffee to your room in the morning so you can enjoy the peace and nature.

We loved our stay at Mystic River. The staff was friendly and very helpful and they helped to make our excursions memorable. The room was large and very clean and the drivers were extremely knowledgeable and accommodating. Make sure to go zip lining, caving and check out the Mayan ruins…unforgettable!
