"Great hosts and very friendly and happy to please couldn't wish for better"

"A lovely place to stay full of character and charm. The host was really helpful and friendly and the location was really convenient as well"

"Fiona was an engaging and helpful hostess. The accommodation was as anticipated for an historic setting with upstairs rooms. Within walking distance of shopping precinct, including eateries. Ample convenient parking. Excellent breakfast."

"Awesome! We cannot help but say it out loud the moment we entered the access code and unlatched the door to our well-appointed unit. This waterfront apartment-hotel or aparthotel delivers as its brand name promises - fantastic river views from the comfort and convenience of our room. We stayed overnight in an unbelievably large studio unit with plenty of space to dance ballet, “pirouette en pointe” and “fouetté en tournant”. "One word. FANTASTIC"

"Great place"

"Nice location, very clean, great hot shower, adequately equipped kitchen and good heating. Lounge furniture a little sparse and uncomfortable. The only issue was the bed. While clean and in good condition, but the mattress far too soft for us. Didn’t sleep at all well, woke with back ache."

"The room was very nice, overlooking the lovely garden which was great to walk around, lovely flowers and view. Breakfast was amazing, sucks a good variety to choose from, all very fresh ingredients."

"The room could have been cleaner no wi-fi the whole time we were there 5 days."

"A beautiful luxurious suite, they have thought of everything. Hi"

"We enjoyed our stay at the Formby. It was good value for the price. The room was clean and spacious, the parking convenient. The staff were friendly. Only one complaint was the shower which kept on going hot and cold. There is a washing machine which is great, even better would be the addition of a dryer. The downstairs bar had a great vibe and the restaurant was so popular it was booked out, which must be a sign it's good. We plan to stay again next time we are in Devonport."

"The room was nice and clean. Good parking just outside the room. The WiFi was a bit weak with our room being further away from the reception. Therefore we couldn’t watch the tv."

"This accommodation was ok but there didn’t seem to be anyone around we were the only people in the restaurant for dinner which was very nice and it was closed for breakfast. Our room whilst ok was under the pool level no view yet it looked like the better rooms were occupied by the staff??? Wouldn’t recommend this"

"I was a bit wary entering through the game room from the back parking lot, but what a delightful surprise to find a beautiful, roomy, fully updated room! They have clearly put great care into renovating this historic hotel. We enjoyed staying there."
