I'm not a stranger to Southern California. Lived there for decades. Newhall/Santa Clarita were always a welcome escape from the tight squeeze that was/is Hollywood, Burbank, Glendale, Pasadena, etc. Love it!

Newhall is a cute town with lots of restaurants and shops on on the main street. Nice to be out of LA yet close enough to visit attractions.

Newhall it's always busy so during traffic time it's a bit. It's a lot. Think people stay here for the convenience of the location/business.
"We loved our stay here! A beautiful hotel, clean and a great place to escape the heat outside and have a cool drink in the bar or by the iconic outdoor pool area.
Our room had been refurbished with modern touches. Our bed’s and pillows were really comfortable and the hotel staff friendly and welcoming. The hotel is on Hollywood Boulevard so you can step out onto the stars.
Great location for many food options and shopping.
We would happily book a stay here again. "
