"Booked the Gwbert Hotel for a 2 night stay before and following a Register Office marriage in Aberystwyth. The room and food were excellent. However, the hotel was informed weeks before our arrival, that the stay would be to celebrate our marriage. Unfortunately, on arrival the staff denied any knowledge of being notified of our event, and even when made aware made no effort or gestures to acknowledge our big day. The marriage details were clearly given to the hotel when the booking was made online and followed up with by phone. Shockingly, we were made to prove the phone call by showing our call log!! We gave the staff every opportunity to rectify their oversight, but still no gesture to make our stay special was made. The hotel is clearly not prepared or able to deal with special occasions which was extremely disappointing."

Rooms very dated but clean, beds/ pillows not very comfortable but bathroom had been refurbished which was nice. Pool was warm, changing rooms very basic and needed money for hair dryer. "I loved staying here! Such helpful staff, and a gorgeous room with the comfiest bed. Great location, and has a charming pub with great food (loved the crab risotto). Made to order breakfast with lots of options including vegetarian. One thing to note - my room’s window was over the front door and things get a little rowdy outside on weekends - nothing my air buds couldn’t drown out. Would highly recommend!"
