"Ideal location for the town and the New forest. Just a walk across the road and you are in the New forest. Lots of parking available. Staff were lovely and friendly. There is a bus stop right outside in case you do not drive or wish not to drive. We did have breakfast and dinner, both of which were very good. Caters for breakfast and dinner and has a bar. Room was clean, had everything that you needed. This hotel allows dogs. There was no smell of dogs throughout the building and not one dog hair to show. I myself have dogs ,they did not come with us this time but maybe in the future. As a dog owner I do not like the smell of dog. So compliments to housekeeping and to the dog owners. I arrived in may, I could not believe that I slept under a 4.5 duvet which was nice and warm. I would recommend this hotel .Its great value for money ,great location. "

"Breakfast was a bit of a pickle. Help yourself on the bar. Hot order with waitress. Bacpn only cooked on one side - a bit odd. Coffee not good. "

Parking was easy and onsite, and it's great how close you are walking distance into Lyndhurst high street. Breakfast was very nice and had plenty of choice. Huge thanks! "

"Stayed four nights in a superior room which was clean and comfortable with the usual amenities. Access up the very steep and narrow stairs not for anyone with poor mobility. The breakfast was excellent but could have had more options beside the cooked breakfast. Meals and drinks in the evening were great. Parking was ok, but could be difficult in the busier months . A quiet location with direct access to a beautiful part of the forest. The pub has no staff on site during the night which is a little disconcerting."

"Acorn cottage is a beautiful house in a stunning location, it has everything you need.We were blessed with fabulous weather so we spent a lot of time in the garden. Lovely pub that does great Sunday roasts 10 minute walk up the lane."
