"Had a wonderful stay here. The property is charming with a lot of character and a perfect central location. The “superior” room was spacious and bright and the staff were incredibly friendly. The cleaning staff especially were so kind and sweet. The shower did switch temperatures from hot to warm back and forth which was odd but that was the only thing we noticed. Overall fantastic and highly recommend!!"

"Excellent facilities in the heart of rethymno. Great location with nearby parking options (not linked to the property), and walking distance to several points of interest, cafes, restaurants, and of course the beach! We had a junior suite which was very spacious, had a balcony, living room / kitchen, and bedroom all with Aircon, plus a great bathroom. There were bottles of water left outside our room which was great as we drink a lot of water generally, but even more so when it's over 30c heat! The cleaning team were really on it. When coming back from a day of exploration the room was always tidied, bins emptied, beds made. From our balcony we could see ongoing renovations across the road to one of the historic mosques, which was pretty cool. Breakfast was included in our stay and every morning we were not disappointed with the variety available. Eggs were cooked to order on request, and a plate of fruit was bought around every time. They really did provide a service, all the team were exceptionally polite, spoke great English, and attentive to all of their guests, as seen during breakfast. It was a special occasion for my wife and I, our honeymoon, and I have no regrets staying here. Should we find ourselves in Rethymno again, we will be staying here"

"Excellent hotel , four of us enjoyed an extremely pleasant seven days at the Aquila Porto. We had sixth floor beach-facing rooms - the rooms were a good size, bathroom was clean, air-conditioning a god-send, very quiet and easy to sleep at night. The beach across the road is well-kept, no problem securing sun loungers. Sea can be a bit choppy but that's not the hotel's fault! The Aquila Porto's two main selling points are (1) the food. Its not the largest buffet we'd ever seen but its by far/away the best. Great variety, all beautifully cooked, a real pleasure (2) the staff. all are extremely helpful and accommodating, service is first class. No real gripes at all - breakfast can get a bit busy, and the coffee maybe could be better, but overall a definite five star, ten out of ten experience. Highly recommended."

A warm and friendly welcome from the hosts of the property was also raher sweet way to feel connected to the property! I would recomend, location was excellent, on the outskirts, close to parking, the fort and real lived in part of town!"

"This is like no hotel we have ever experienced, and we have travelled extensively. This is a converted Hamam from the 17thC with all the modern amenities. The room had been the warming room of the Hamam and includes a private steam bath. A large dome is central to the room, as is the comfortable bed. Beautiful tile work. And a delightful host who answered all our questions and made excellent suggestions."
