I did like this resort overall for my family trip from 05/10 - 05/17/2024. This is an older resort, so be prepared and if you are looking for a party scene, then this is not the place for you!! There are several small pools with swim up bars, but they all close at 5pm. There is service on the beach for drinks, but very sporadic. However, you are not far from the beach to one of the pool bars, so that you can just get yourself a drink. Also, some of the staff are not very friendly. I noticed this for the pool bars mostly. Once you speak to them, they are friendly, but probably b/c they want to offer you an excursion so they can make money on the side. The food is average in my opinion. The buffet is open every day for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It's average. The Italian restaurant was the best and we liked the Jamaican restaurant. The beach is gorgeous and everything you need is walkable, which is what I liked the most. I had read some very bad reviews and was quite worried, but overall, this place offered what we wanted. However, I can see where others would be disappointed based on my other all-inclusive trips. Go for the beautiful beach and close proximity, and small resort vibe. Don't expect the best food and service!!!

Food was terrible. Menus always had missing items. Most staff didn’t smile. Room amenities were subpar. We didn’t get the perfect ocean view that we were promised. We complained three times and nothing was done.

The towel situation was horrible!!!! By 9 am, every day, no towels at all. 12 buildings, very spread out. Pool Bars close to early at 5 pm forcing everyone to one bar at a end of resort. Check in was the worst. 1.5 hour process and lobby was empty. Said couldn’t find reservation for long while!! Then, apologized and we spoke to a supervisor. Promised to send special something to room and never did!

I recently had a deeply troubling experience at Azul Resort. Upon arrival, we were bombarded by high-pressure sales tactics immediately promising discounts if we attended a presentation. We reluctantly accepted to attend a presentation the next morning. The condition of the hotel was subpar, with unkept rooms that did not match the ocean-facing view we paid for. After bringing this to the attention of management, we were promised the correct room type, but were made to wait for over 12 hours, effectively wasting a day of our short visit. In addition to these issues, during a moment when I was attempting to take a nap, a staff member made inappropriate and unwelcome advances toward my wife, insinuating sexual advancements without directly stating them. This behavior made both of us extremely uncomfortable and is completely unacceptable. Fixtures and screws were rusted in the upgraded room we paid for. The lack of basic amenities and maintenance was egregious. The food lacked adequate seasoning. Room service had a limited menu. On one occasion, room service failed to arrive altogether. I will never recommend anyone to go there, and I personally will never return. I am actively discouraging everyone I meet from staying at Azul Resort. After exhausting all avenues for resolution with the hotel's management, I have contacted my credit card company to explore options for obtaining a refund for the time wasted at this resort since their management is incapable of providing resolut

The beach was beautiful, the bar and restaurant staff were great. The food at all the restaurants were good especially the Italian restaurant. We stayed in Room 21009, a Swimup Deluxe Suite but the swimup area really was unusable because it was right at the bridge, lots of foliage so the patio was always filled with mosquitos and fleas. The rooms were clean and the cooler regularly stocked. Get beach towels early because they run out quickly and sometimes you are just out of luck for the day. The front desk staff need customer service training. We checked in online but our room was not ready when we arrived. Told to come back at 3pm, we did, room still wasn't ready and just told to continue to wait with no idea when a room would be ready. They ended up giving us another room after I asked for a manager. After we said no to the timeshare presentation, we never saw our Concierge again. You must checkout at the lobby and are told to fill out a review while you are in line to checkout. Didn't know this beforehand and would have liked to know when we checked in. There was only one person working the lobby to check out people so this extended our time in line. They put a $200 hold on your credit card at check in but you must pay in cash for any incidentals, they refused to charge the card. Not a problem, just would have liked to know in advance. They advertise 9 restaurants but they are open at different times, one breakfast only, some dinner only, one lunch only.
