"We had an authentic Japanese experience staying here. The location was perfect - the house was on a quiet street while still being very close to the main attractions in the Gion area. The interior was beautiful, clean and well insulated with heated floors and AC in each room. Beds were very comfortable and the upstairs living offered a lovely veiw of the Yasaka Pagoda. "The breakfast was our favorite of the whole trip, absolutely incredible. One younger woman at reception was an angel. However, there was absolutely urine soaked bedding in our room! From memory, I believe we were in 686. It's important urine soaked bedding is thrown away. I sent pictures to management. We otherwise had a lovely stay, but it's really gross to know this is what my son was sleeping on, especially because these are duvet covers that fall off. "
