"We had 3 fantastic stays at the Riverte Kyoto Kamogawa. Very service minded staff that took good care of us from arriving to checkout. Room was spacious, nice and comfortable - and the hotel has a small rooftop terrace. Area is quiet and nice, but with a selection of amazing small restaurants close by. We will stay here again when we visit Kyoto. "

"The guesthouse is quite nice, the dorm I stayed in is just 4 bunks, which is a good thing when staying is guesthouses. The showers were very clean for a shared situations. The location is in a charming district near Kyoto university. It can get a little loud at night with the university students drinking in the area, but that wasn’t really a problem if you have earplugs. "An exceptional stay from start to finish. Gracious hospitality, a true time capsule with updates in all the right places. The japanese breakfast every day was truly memorable, and the coffee shop on the property was beautiful as well. I could not recommend more, 10/10 stay, worth the price! "Perfect for a family of four. Beds were great, the space was plenty (especially for Japan), and it had great amenities like a washer/dryer, separate toilet and bathroom. And full kitchen. The location was also great: near a subway line and also close to the philosophers walk. Lawsons downstairs also helped This is a place for travelers who want higher end accomodations but don't need onsite facilities like a restaurant "

Incredible hotel!

"The whole time was amazing. From the moment we walked in I was amazed at the hotel itself. A must see and definitely worth staying at. Perfectly centered in the heart of Shinjuku. Loved walking to the hotel at night because it is so beautiful to the whole city lit up with lights. Only think is every room is small in Japan so don’t be surprised. "

"Great authentic Ryokan. Bus stops were close which made it easy to get around, lots of good restaurants close by with an amazing bakery. The hot bath was a great way to relax after a long day of exploring the city. Would highly reccomend staying here if youre travelling to Kyoto!"
