"We had a wonderful 3-night stay at LUX at the end of May — the place is absolutely beautiful! From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, the staff made our experience truly special. A big shoutout to Kennedy at the front desk — his hospitality was out of this world! So pleasant and polite, he took the time to show us around and made us feel at home right away. Huge thanks to Abdul at the cashier desk for the amazing upgrade to the Executive Beach Front Room #9 — what a treat! And Ali at Café LUX, thank you for your help — such a well-mannered young man. We will definitely be coming back again! "

"The entire hotel staff are absolutely wonderful - they are always friendly and welcoming. They are really what makes this place great. The buffet food was great and our room was wonderful. The rOom and hotel in general were immaculately clean. Even the beach along the nearby coast is crystal clear and clean. would say the water for showering isn't great but I'm not sure there's a whole lot that can be done about that. The hotel is also quite far from Stone Town/the airport, so be prepared to booka lot of taxis if you have things to do on the west side of the island."

" Our February 2025 stay at Sensation Resort Hotel in Zanzibar was nothing short of amazing. Whether it was the attentive housekeeping, the friendly reception team, or the restaurant staff who always served with a smile, we felt truly valued as guests. Every meal was a delightful culinary experience, featuring fresh, high-quality ingredients and a mix of local and international flavors; the variety and presentation were top-notch. Our bungalow was a perfect retreat—modern, spacious, and designed for ultimate comfort. The interiors were stylish. Enjoying the peaceful beach added to the overall charm of the resort. Beyond the accommodations and dining, the overall atmosphere of Sensation Resort Hotel was serene and relaxing. The well-maintained grounds, lovely pool were fantastic. Most guests are European and it seems the hotel manager knows how to deliver for this clientele. Bring cash before you arrive here as there is no ATM at the resort and you will need some cash for tips! We highly recommend Sensation Resort Hotel to anyone looking for a luxurious getaway in Zanzibar. We will definitely return! "

"I am a solo female traveller. Zanzibar House is an excellent property in so many ways. The staff are friendly and helpful. The grounds are a delight to be in, with lots of comfortable places to sit and read or contemplate the beauty of the area. I did not use the pool and I am sure it would be lovely. At night time I had an evening meal which was tasty and they accommodated my dietary requirements very well. I am gluten intolerant. I recommend this hotel if you like quiet and beauty filled places "

"We loved our stay at this Zanzibar beach house, but there are a few things you should know that are not listed. If you are used to a VRBO house, this is very different. There are 12 staff on property. They clean the house every day. There is a pool cleaner, beach cleaner, and security. The main difference for us was that we did not have access to the kitchen. So, the only option to eat at the house was to employ the full-time chef. Granted this was lovely, but it was an extra charge of $15 per person for lunch and $25 person for dinner. So, again I highly recommend the house, but need to post these things that are not listed. Enjoy!"

"The Restaurant, Room, Gardener and Manager were helpful and friendly and tried their best with what they had to work with. The room was nice with direct access to the pool. ● no water on two occasions ● restaurant did not have all the food that was listed on the menu ● bar did not have liquor to make drinks tgat was listed on the menu ● owner and staff's four year old children (2) were in the pool without supervision. I felt I was responsible/lifeguard if something happened - that's just me. "
