"From the minute we entered the resort, we felt like we were the most valued guests. The checkin process was most welcoming and took place in the lounge, with a personal checkin attendant and a welcome drink and snack. We were then led to choosing our yukatas and obis, and then escorted to our suite. Each feature of the suite was explained in detail. We had a private onsen on the deck as well as a private footpath on the patio. Both are beautifully designed and aesthetically very appealing, adding to the lovely hot spring experience. The room was very well appointed and spacious. The amenities provided were very good quality products. Dinners and breakfasts were served in a private area of the dining facility, sometimes in our own little dining room. They were set menus, beautifully and artistically presented and the dining attendants explained each dish. Each dish, each piece of cutlery or crockery was singly and purposefully set down. The staff were most attentive and very friendly. The facility is 2.5km from the main town. It is set in a quiet area and the views of Mt Yufu and the valley are spectacular. It is very relaxing to sit in the lounge or out on the main deck and see the beautiful view. The public onsens also have this lovely view of the mountain and the valley We loved being at this resort....they truly value their guests. You will feel rested and pampered. There is a shuttle that goes to town at 9am and at 3pm. Cabs are easy to get. great place to stay"

"A peaceful and relaxing simple retreat. Old style ryokan with tatami mats etc. We used the men only onsen and were basically alone in there. It was very clean and hot. Perfect. Also they offered complimentary coffee, tea and ramen cup. They provided everything we needed for using the baths. "

"This was my first experience at at ryokan, and the inn is one I would gladly visit again. Great staff, comfortable beddings, fantastic exteriors, and amazing spa facilities (both public and private). It's a bit of a walk from the main town, though."

"The hotel had multiple onsen each of different style. Very enjoyable. The view from the room faced forestry, which would be beautiful in autumn when the leaves turned red. The sound on rushing water from the rapids nearby gave a soothing feeling. The service staff coordination was great too, when you arrive or checked out, they will ask for your name or room number, then inform recep or the car assistant to prepare your keys. Things which were not great 1/ food at the buffet was often cold or like warm,other than soup. 2/ would have been nicer if it were kaiseki"

"Excellent service, staff is very knowledgeable for restaurants and things to do nearby. We send email to ask about tea experience and fruit picking experience and they reply with detailed information. Room is spotless and there is self-service laundry and free coffee and a little pantry where you can sort yourself breakfast with the shop next to the hotel where they sell local products every day. Highly recommend!"

"This is the nicest hotel I have ever stayed in while in Japan. Every floor has a different layout and the rooms themselves are like small houses. Everything is spacious, and ease to get around. Plus, the onsens are AMAZING. I almost fell asleep while using one. Most of the staff doesn't speak English, so either practice your Japanese or bring a translator with you. "
