Nestled in the Bankhead National Forest, Pine Torch was built in 1850. Made from poplar logs with oak shingles and a tin roof, it's the perfect example of a log building from that era. It served as both church and school for the area. Nondenominational services are held every Sunday still. Pine Torch is part of the Hallelujah Trail of North Alabama which is a collection of churches over 100 years in age, still residing in the original church site and still holding services today. What a great view back in time prior to electric services for light and heat. You can smell the "oldness" in this one room structure.

"Fabulous ! Spacious and clean room with comfortable beds, hot shower, ac that did not rev up and down all night! Ice machine didn’t work on first floor but otherwise no complaints. Super easy check in with patient , respectful clerk (to the man who worked Monday night, July 20th at 6:30 pm, a huge thank you!) "
